Rust-Oleum 300112 Rust Dissolver Gel, 32 oz

Break caliper with moderate rust….tried several things to remove it, including mild sanding, iron remover and other rust remover products…results were poor…i gave this product a try today, its definitely the best, bo doubts,,,, just make sure to spray small amount only over the affected surface and let it dwell for few minutes and rinse it with good water stream and u r done

I bought a brand new Toyota Corolla 2026 hybrid, and the dealer forgot to put a rim and cap on one tyre; the bolt was rusted. I contacted the dealer, and they will get the missing RIM and CAP, but in the meantime, I had to do something to remove the rust from that bolt. The car is new. Within 30 minutes of applying the gel, all the rust was removed. In other words, this is the real deal. I also put some on the disc brakes.

After thoroughly reviewing dozens of products claiming to remove rust, I finally settled on this product (Rust-Oleum Rust Dissolver) and boy am I glad that I did. I have (had) rusted bolts on my stanchion poles that hold up my Sun sail on my back patio. First, I decided to try a wire brush (drill bit) which I thought would easily 'brush' off the rust from the bolts. Now, while it did somewhat take the rust off the flat surface of the bolt, it did nothing to remove the rust on the sides of the bolt. So, after that, I began my search for a chemical solution, thus I purchased this product. I sprayed the bolts with the 'gel' like solution and went inside and forgot to rinse them off after a half-hour (as instructed.) When I came out the following morning, I was stunned to find the rust had completely disappeared. There was some white 'residue' that dripped down the poles from the application, but this easily rinsed off with just a spray from my garden hose. Now, understand, that the bolts will not resort back to the shinney 'glossy' silver finish they had when new, they have more of a matte finish to them. It's sort of a medium gray finish, but certainly much better than the rusty look they had before. My only regret is that I did not take before and after pictures, so that you could appreciate what a wonderful job this product did. I would highly recommend this product!
