Hooked this up to bedroom tv in camper, called dish to connect and works great

I’m pleased with the Dish Wally receiver that I purchased to replace a 3-year old Wally that failed. It works perfectly. We had two VIP211z's using a Winegard Pathway X2 Dish Portable Satellite TV Antenna on our camper. We were looking to upgrade our technology and the Wally receivers are significantly smaller which is a huge bonus! Setup was very smooth but took about 40 minutes for the first time setup. Since we are DISH customers, you need to call DISH and NOT the number provided on the unit to add the receiver to your account.I enabled text to speech on the initial setup and that was very annoying. This can turn this off later in settings. My reason for knocking it down by one star is there is no build-in Wi-Fi. There is a module available but there are only two USB ports. One of them are taken by the OTA module I use for the antenna input and I was hoping to add an external hard drive to turn this into a mini DVR so there would be no additional port available for the Wi-Fi module. Running CAT5 cable within the confines of a camper shell is not an easy project.

Folks, I’m just telling you what my experience was I needed this too using my RV when there was already a dish satellite installed that we had had previously we moved back home so there was no problem with the Wally connecting to the dish and the set up was quite easy, however, keep in mind. You have no paws you have no locals and you have no on demand without a Wi-Fi adapter and Internet. The Wi-Fi adapter is gonna cost you about 30 bucks and you gotta have a Bluetooth adapter which is another 50 bucks if you want to have Bluetooth connections all that being said that’s not the problem. The problem with this product is that it worked fine for about 20 days then it would turn off and restart turn off and restart turn off and restart over and over and over with no explanation. I called the company. The support was nonexistent so I mailed it back and ordered one from dish network directly. I’ve had no problem since then They say this is new but it’s a faulty product or at least that’s been. My experience would not recommend this at all because after your 30 day warranty is up you’re gonna get stuck holding the bill.

This is a good product. It would not work with my old motorhome TVs. The old TV uses coax cable and this unit supports HDMI
