Q: Does the metal blades get hot after using for a while?

no I've used these for a while and I have never found them to heat up

Q: Can you but other attachments? We need a slightly longer one

it comes with a few attachments so not sure if you can buy additional ones

Q: For the life of me i can't get the length switch on the clippers to move (1.3mm/1.6mm/1.9mm) it seems stuck/jammed. Has anyone else had this problem?

I think it is a slight weakness of the clippers. I have found you need to develop a 2-thumb technique to move it, applying equal pressure on both sides of the ridge and then it will move North/South. It worked out of the box, then felt jammed, then I discovered that technique. Only had it a day so I'm not filled with confidence that the mechanism will last. Other than that, it seems to work pretty well as a clipper.

Q: What’s it like trimming the down there area?

I don't use them for that but i have used them for my chest and worked very well they cut very well
