Fire on the Mountain (Aladdin Picture Books)

I have a biological and an adoptive daughter (from Ethiopia), and they both love this book. Great story and beautiful illustrations. One of our favorites, and we have a lot of books. It's the only one we've ever written a review about.

I love this story of an Ethiopian folk tale. It is wonderfully told and the artwork is a perfect partner. This is a treasure of a book that I my daughter loves to read with me.

We enjoyed this book from another land. It provided an experience with characters who have courage, truth, and perserverence. I recommend this book!

What a wonderful story of courage and committment! The surprise ending was great! I look forward to having this in my collection of picture books about Ethiopia. The illustrations are beautiful, too!

The combination of colours and language throughout this book creates an effect missing from many on the children's market. This sort of promotion of cultural diversity is needed in the West.

The book in a very Ethiopian way talks about a courageous boy and his sister questioning authority. I read the book to my 6-year-old by sight translating it into Amharic; I thank the author for telling the story beautifully.

A thought-provoking traditional Ethiopian story that my daughter enjoys a lot. The illustrations are lovely.
