My toe next to the pinky toe has migrated toward the toe in front of it. Would wearing a spacer around It and that toe also be feasible?

I have migrating toes and hammer toes and while the spacers do help, I've also gotten the toe sleeves and those help to alleviate the discomfort I can get when my overlapping toe rubs against whatever shoe I'm wearing.

Would these stay on while swimming?

If you would be doing a lot of thrashing around they could work their way off. Over time they loosen up their shape a bit.

My doctor thinks this will help my hammertoes from further cramping, (not to straighten them). Do you think so?

I have no medical training but personally I don’t know how these would help straighten your toes. They are a vet soft gel cushion.
