I don't know where it is made but I have two of these in my kitchen and love it. I use hem for the Coffee Maker and the Cappuccini Maker.I ourchased one additional one for my son who liked mine. I hope this helps.

Q: Do you have to adhere it to your countertop with anything?

One side of the mat is slickly for sliding on the countertop and the other side sort of grips the appliance. For something at is so inexpensive, I am absolutely thrilled with the mats. I even cut some of them to fit under smaller things like my mug tree.

Q: This may sound silly, but can the top part of the handicady be used as a cutting board?

No, I wouldn't think so. The plastic isn't hard enough to use knives on. That and it's too wobbly to be useful as a cutting board.

Q: Is it dishwasher safe? Will it scratch the counter?

I have no clue if dishwasher safe but I just wipe it if dirty. Does not scratch counter. Great product!
