Utter Fishy Lifesaver!
I discovered yesterday, much to my horror, that my nitrite levels had spiked to around 4 - 5ppm - this is a toxic level for fish, my nitrate levels were up at around 50 (again not good news). I was gutted as I love the fish. I think the fault was not cycling the tank properly before I put my fish in and a few days after I bought my fish I changed my old and very used filter sponge for a brand new one - convinced I was doing my little fishies a lot of good!Yesterday afternoon, upon reading the results of my water test, I immediately did a 50 per cent water change and ordered this Seachem Prime as it had many reviews saying it immediately got rid of nitrites, nitrates and ammonia etcThis morning when I woke up I did another 25 per cent water change and an hour later tested my water - I had managed to get my nitrite levels down to roughly 2ppm. This is still no good, they MUST read 0 or your fish are in danger. The Seachem Prime arrived today (less than 24 hours after ordering) and I immediately put 3ml into my 60L tank, which is 3x the stated dose but I had a nitrite emergency and felt happy all would be well.I read my water levels an hour later and the nitrite readings are now roughly 0 - 0.5. It has clearly had an immediate effect on these levels and probably saved my little fish. I also have 3 minuscule little fry in the tank and I am hoping it has saved their little lives as well. The nitrate levels are now at around 20 ish which is perfectly safe for fish.I am planning to put around 1ml of Prime into my water every 24 hours now, and do a 25 per cent water change twice a week until I think my tank has cycled fully. I will then reduce the Prime to once every 48 hours and continue to test, then once every 3 to 4 days and test to ensure there are no spikes and that my tank is cycled!I am so grateful for this product, I did not sleep a wink last night desperate to sort this problem out!Just to note, Seachem Prime can be used as a water conditioner by itself and it makes tap water safe for fish. However because this product had not arrived when I did my water changes I used API Stress Coat Plus in my new water which also makes tap water safe for fish as it removes chlorines and chloramines etcThe Prime can be used in conjunction with other products, it will not harm the fish. In future when I do water changes I will use Prime only as my water conditioner.I also use a Gravel Cleaner liquid which breaks down waste and slows the build up of green algea.I cannot recommend this product enough if you have a nitrite spike, it will save fishy lives!UPDATE: LESS THAN 5 DAYS AFTER STARTING WITH THIS PRODUCT NITRITE AND NITRATE LEVELS BOTH 0.This is a great product. I'll now only use it as a water conditioner with my weekly water change!

Saved my tank when used in combo with stability
Used in conjunction with seachem stability to save my fish after filter disaster and nitrite spike. Used it in emergency dose first then smaller ones on following days. Must say I still lost fish over first few days until I started to combine with seachem stability to restore balance in my filter so I'm not sure if it was working alone or if combination of both helped in the end. Levels now fine after a week though and remaining fish all great. Read multiple online expert forums on this product and stability and I am certain if I had not used either I would have lost all my fish so definitely worth having in and using if you have troubles in your tank.

The 999 liquid
The 999 liquid for unbalanced tanks.I had a real problem with a newly established tank . My nitrite levels were off the charts but my nitrate was normal .Let me tell you what worked for meInclude biological filter medium ( ceramic rings ) in to your filter even if you have to partially replace the sponge with medium. Always make sure the sponge is on topIn a new tank don't conduct water changes unless there is an emergency .Let your tank settle.Get an airstone to increase flow .And get Seachem prime .Prime won't sort out your nitrate/nitrate problems but it detoxifies them which buys you time to establish your cycle .I was losing fish until prime intervened and my cycle kicked in , hence the 999 reference .Only a cycled tank will make fish happy but prime might buy you enough time to allow the cycle to kick in .

Very concentrated.
Only 3stars on easy to use and 4 stars over all, I brought this because I was told it was the best. However, this product is so concentrated it's nearly impossible to get the right amount for a 45 litre tank. I have to use 0.63 mls for a water change. try measuring that out !! I would only advise to purchase this if you have a 90 litre plus fish tank.

Fantastic Product Highly recommended
I have been using Seachem Prime conditioner since 2016 having been advised from one of the fish keeping facebook pages. Never looked back since. It is a reliable product. Its a concentrate means that it lasts considerable time,5ml per 200 litres!!. Given its price and concentrate this is great value for moneyMy aquarium is 250 litres and i use it regularly when changing water / cleaning the tank. If you have children, then no doubt you will no about the syringes in Calpol. Perfect for use here. Give them a wash and then use it for this purpose going forwards. I do regular Water tests using a test kit and always the results are as expect.

Seems to reduces Nitrate
My tap water has nitrate levels around 30-35ppm. After my first cycle I had readings of 40-60 ppm in my tank. After reading all the reviews bought Prime and did a test and it clearly reduced the Nitrate levels in my tank sample water (as per attached image with Tap, Tank and Tank water with Prime). Highly concentrated so very small dosage goes a long way.

Smells like a Thousand Rotten Eggs. But Works a Charm.
It was delivered the next day, for no additional cost. When I first used it, I hated it - my entire house was filled with the wonderful aroma of rotten eggs - I couldn't possibly see how this product was so popular in the fish hobby. However, I later discovered that the trick to an odourless home, is to add the conditioner to a bucket of water or a small sample of water, rather than add it straight to the fish tank, with this method I have enjoyed using it far more. I purchased this conditioner, as I was having trouble with an aquarium that was giving me a false cycle. I added fish only to find the Ammonia increase. Now, with this product, my fish have had no problems and my tank is finally starting to stabilise. Prime only stays active in the aquarium for 48 hours, so after this time frame, you will need to add another dose to keep all the toxins nutrified and your fish healthy. I think I would definitely continue using this as a water conditioner, now that the smell is manageable.
