Minimal results
This retinol-base serum from Dermelect is unique in that it is a totally anhydrous formula, meaning it is formulated without water. This is significant in that the active ingredients stay potent for longer, and the overall serum has a longer expiry date. The key ingredients in this serum include hyaluronic spheres that deliver a burst of plumping hydration to the skin as well as RetiStar stabilized retinol which provides all the benefits of retinol (increased cell turnover, plumping of fine lines and wrinkles, evening of skin tone) in a stable formula. The silicones in the formula help to make this serum super smooth and spreadable on the skin, leaving a velvety finish. I did notice that the serum helped to plump up my fine lines though I did not see a noticeable difference over time as I have been using this serum for about a month now. Overall, I think this retinol serum is nice but a bit expensive ($71.90 at time of writing) for the minimal results it delivers.

Pretty good
When I hear "serum" I expect a liquid that is somewhat viscous, but this serum has a completely different texture. It's hard to describe, but it kind of looks like a gel when I pump it out, but it melts away when I rub it in. It does seem to work fairly well for what it is, but I suspect it doesn't contain a high percentage of retinol because I can use this several days in a row without having any issues with peeling or irritation.

Pump component broken
Whilst the product seems good, it is fiddly for me to use because the pump is broken. I need to use a small spatula to remove the serum. A very expensive fault.

So pricey for something so simple but works well
This is a nice basic serum. It's got some good ingredients but does list retinol without a percentage. You need to stay out of the sun or use sunscreen obsessively with retinols otherwise you're just giving yourself more wrinkles. The serum when used along with the rest of my skincare routine left my face feeling plump and hydrated! I don't know if I would swap out my tret for this but it is quite nice. Just pricey!

Gel Leaves Sticky Residue
This gel does leave my skin feeling hydrated but it doesn't do much for my wrinkles - they're still there and I don't like the feeling of sticky residue on my face after it dries. The price is also high for the effect you get. On the positive side, you don't need a lot each time - a few drops of the serum is all you need to cover your face.Overall a bit overpriced for what it does. It also contains retinol, so if you are sensitive to this product, apply sparingly.
