A must for blowing out bottom drains in inground pools.
I have bottom drains in my pool and while I know some people do not winterize those, I am not taking chances on expensive repairs. The pool installer included the first winterization and he used this blower to fill the drain with air and then closed the valve so the air cannot escape. I tried to do the same with a shop-vac but it did not have the power to blow out the water eight feet deep. This unit did the job in seconds and makes it much easier to blow out all the other lines as well. Totally worth the money.

Works great for blowing out the swimming pool lines at closing
I just used this to blow out all the lines to my pool. It worked great. I was able to run a hose from the blower into the skimmer and then use the valves on the pool equipment to direct air into each of the pipes that needed to be blown out. This unit has plenty of power for blowing out pool pipes. I understand that some blowers have a hard time blowing out multiple returns at once. You have to wait for one to blow out, plug it, and then the next one starts blowing. This blower pushed the water out of six return outlets at once, and did so evenly. The hardest part is making sure you get the accessories that you need to connect this unit into your system. It comes with an adapter that screws into blower that allows it to connect to a standard 1.5" pool hose. It doesn't come with a hose or anything to attach the hose on the other end to your pool equipment. With this blower I ordered:- a six foot pool hose- 1.5" screw adapter for a pool hose -- same size as the one that comes with the blower, but I'm using this on the other end of the hose to screw into the skimmer. Skimmers usually come with 1.5" or 2" holes and this fits the smaller of the two- 2" screw adapter for a pool hose -- fits the larger size skimmer holes (I have both size, lucky me)If I were doing it again, I would not buy the hose. I have a hose that I could have used (my standard vacuum hose). I bought the extra hose along with some clamps so that I could attach the hose to the adapter more securely and permanently. It turns out that clamping isn't needed. The hose stays on the friction fittings on the adapters while blowing out the lines very securely even without any clamps. With the hose friction fit onto the adapters and the adapters screwed into the skimmers, I was able to blow out the lines alone without any help. I didn't need anybody to hold the hose in place. It stayed right where I put it when I turned the blower on.I also tried to use this blower to blow out a hose line. It is not the right tool for that job. This blower works great for large diameter pool lines, but it fails miserably on 1/2" diameter hose lines. It couldn't push the water through and when I turned off the unit, the water backed up from the line into the blower. I had to dry the blower out completely before I turned it on so that I wouldn't ruin it. I found that an air compressor does a much better job for hose lines.

The Pool Closing Beast – Powerful and Worth It
Closing an in-ground pool used to be a dreaded (and expensive) task, but this Cyclone 3HP blower changed the game for me. Let me tell you, this thing is an absolute beast. It’s basically a supercharged shop-vac that only blows air. I used it last fall to winterize my swimming pool lines, and I was honestly amazed at how quickly and forcefully it blew out the water from the lines. I attached it to my skimmer line and within seconds I had geysers of water shooting out of every return and faucet – even the main drain bubbled like a hot tub, which is exactly what I needed to ensure no water was left to freeze. What used to take multiple attempts with a smaller blower, the Cyclone did in one go. Plenty of power to spare. It’s a fairly straightforward machine – basically a heavy-duty 3 HP motor in a tough plastic housing with a handle on top. It’s not too large (about the size of a small bucket vacuum) and weighs roughly 14-15 lbs, which is manageable. Operation is simple: hook up to a standard outlet (it’s 120V), connect your pool hose or adapter to the blower outlet, and flip the switch. It roars to life with a deep hum, and yes it’s loud (wear ear protection if you’re in a confined space), but that’s the sound of power! The air output is tremendous. I also used it when installing a new vinyl liner in my above-ground pool earlier this summer – it acted as a vacuum to suck the liner tight against the walls and floor while filling. It held the liner perfectly in place with strong suction and made the install go smoothly. A couple of practical notes: the unit has a two-stage motor design, meaning it delivers both high airflow and high pressure. In layman’s terms, that meant it could handle blowing out my 6-foot deep end plumbing with ease. The build seems solid – it ran for about 20 minutes straight without overheating or tripping a breaker (it draws around 14 amps, so I put it on a dedicated circuit just in case). The power cord is decently long so I didn’t need an extension. It comes with one large hose adapter which fit my return lines; for other openings I just rigged up additional fittings as needed. After using the Cyclone, I can confidently say I no longer need to pay a pool company hundreds to close my pool – this machine paid for itself after one season. If you’re a pool owner who likes DIY maintenance, you’ll love the Cyclone. It’s powerful, reliable, and up to the task of anything from blasting out water lines to vacuuming a new liner. Just be ready for the noise and hold on tight – it kicks like a mule when it starts, in a good way!

A must for closing pools properly
I use this blower on a daily basis during pool closing season. This blower is the industry standard for blowing out underground pool lines so they don't freeze. No shop vaccum on the market can produce as much pressure as this blower. It can also be used as a liner vaccum for liner replacements, just add a 4" flexible hose. It's a quality product and lasts years of constant abuse.

Purchased this unit to winterize my pool and irrigation system.Thrilled with it. Blows strong, seems quality and haven’t had any issues. Switch/body accessories seem that that will last.Saving a ton of money doing this myself. Also great to inflate pool goodies and guest beds.
