Fun kit.
Looks nice. As with non Lego brands the directions can be vague. Only draw back is the lights included fade after about 3 hours. But they are easy to replace with similar LED strings.

Missing Pieces - Impossible to Finish
The pieces don’t fit together as seamlessly as with legos. Sometimes it’s hard to make the pieces line up or attach. The directions are printed so dark that you can’t always tell the arrangement they should go in. There’s a rocket tile that it says to attach with no place to attach it. But even with all that, my love of legos had me willing to keep going and stay positive. Until I was more than halfway done and realized it was missing pieces. It’s impossible to continue or finish at this point and that is beyond frustrating.

May miss pieces
This gingerbread house is adorable. The original kit had missing pieces. I contacted Amazon and they sent a whole new kit! It is vibrant and beautiful. They pay attention to so many little details. It is a little pricey, but worth it to me. My daughter is enjoying building it, and we are going to keep it together and use every year.

Errors in the directions
This is cute however the quality is not what we are used to with more popular brands. The pieces don’t stay together super well and some pieces had to be forced into place. My 10 year old daughter found numerous errors in the directions, which can really derail your building process. For example mislabeled stickers, wrong color blocks depicted, etc. The end product was fine, but I think this is extremely overpriced for the quality you receive and the frustration you’ll experience due to sloppy instruction errors.

Great detailing, but Architectural/Engineering weaknesses
The final built product looks very attractive, with great detailing on the exterior of the house and around the yard. However, this does not follow a modular design for the house. Instead, individual window, wall, and the door sections are assembled, attached to the base plate, and then stabilized by singular 1x plates. The second floor has limited structural support for the floor, relying more on the various individual wall sections to hold it up, only on the front and sides. The back is open. This leads to some fun with attaching the roof pieces, which causes trim and details to fall off as pressure is applied to get the roof to stay. The instructions have the dormer window sections placed first before the roof sections. I ended up having to take the top half of the dormers off, as well as the second floor angular "back wall" to be able to reach in and hold the connections for the roof in place.Stickers come with this kit, and some are both small and not cut to size (1x1 plate). Once assembled, I recommend not touching it too much as the roof sections could easily fall off. Also, the box has a label that says "DIY Lighting Scene" and provides "Free Lighting Components". No instructions are provided as how to incorporate these in the construction. I am not going to try to place them now that the whole thing is built.

some packages inside are mislabled and instructions are iffy
it was fun to build there are a few kinks in the directions and with some skill you can overcome misalignment of the roof other than the first one coming missing entire bags of blocks. The second one I received was great.

Too many missing pieces
I was unable to finish the build due to too many missing parts. I even had my wife & son help me look through all of the trays of parts and the bags they came in, but the parts aren't there. I was only on step 31 of 149 - who knows how many parts are actually missing. It's also after the return date, so I'm stuck with the thing.

Do yourself a favor and buy genuine Lego - this stuff is so frustrating
I mistakenly bought this set thinking it was Lego. It is not. It is a poor approximation of Lego. It appeared in a search for Lego Christmas sets, and was expensive enough to make me think it was the real thing. When you see the box it is obvious it's not Lego, but the photos of the finished piece here on Amazon make it look like Lego. The pieces are in bags, but there's no logic to it, and no numbering system on the bags. You have to open all the bags and search through all the pieces to find what you need. The way the kit has been designed is terrible. My husband and son say the pieces don't click together well, the structure fell apart a few times during the building as you have to press so hard to get the pieces to connect. What was meant to be a fun activity has turned into something painfully frustrating.
