Balances your Battery Pack Continuously
This Active Cell Balancer is great! I had a very unbalanced 12 Volt (3 series) Li-Ion battery pack and it gradually brought all 3 cells to the exact same voltage (within a couple miliVolts of each other). What I really like is that it balances the cells regardless of their voltage or state of charge (unlike the passive resistor cell balancers which only work when the cells reach 4.2 Volts). This is my favorite feature since I only charge my cells to 4.0 Volts (approximately 80% state of charge for long term life). I performed a very careful measurement of the quiescent current and it is less than 10 mA (so no problem for my setup to leave it running continuously). A great product!

Saved a small solar power generator
I have an Eco-Worthy 300 watt lithium power generator that developed a charging problem. I couldn't charge it to more than 60% at the end of the first year I owned it. No warranty, so I figured out how to open it up and checked the batteries. It has a bank of 30 18650 batteries, arranged in a 3S10P configuration. The BMS was "fooled" by one a solder tab touching the case of one series bank, when it should have been insulated from it, and only in contact with the positive side of the next bank. (notice short shrink wrapper on cell that got hot from bad contact!) Luckily, no fire! Bank voltages were: 4.1, 3.1, and 2.9. Once I corrected this, I installed the equalizer and connected a slide switch to turn it on/off. The bank equalized in about one day and I recharged it to 100% all banks at 4.1v. It fixed my out of balance battery pack and my lithium power generator works great again. The BMS appears to be undamaged. I can switch the equalizer on and off in the future as needed. I may put a plug on the generator so I can use an R/C (toy) battery monitor to see the three series bank voltages, also.
