Waste of Money
These do not wick! After weeks of use, our humidity levels remained low regardless of how much we increased the moisture level on the humidifier. The manufacturer indicated these filters were compatible to our unit. We removed the filters to find the only portion of them that was wet was the part directly in the water (approx 1”). The remaining portion of every filter was completely dry. We ordered new filters from a different manufacturer and when placed in the humidifier they quickly absorbed water and were thoroughly wet. Within hours our humidity level had increased substantially so the problem was not our unit.

Design differences with the Aircare HDC12 must be considered
The overall performance of the EFP Humidifier Filters (wicks) replacement for HDC12 AIRCARE filters (wicks) is affected by one difference. The Aircare HDC12 wick is made with the pass-through of outside air going straight through the wick in see-through channels which picks up the moisture from the wick and carries humid air into my home effectively. The EFP wick has layers that are overlaying one another causing some of the airflow to be restricted resulting for less humidity to be released in the same amount of time.I found that the water in the Aircare HD1409 humidifier using the HDC12 wick was taking up the water in humidifier containers in about 18 hours requiring them to be refilled. The EFP wick used up about half the water in the same time.In the dry climate we have in the winter time in Eastern Colorado, we want the humidifier to put out as much moisture as possible. The humidifier has auto sensing to selected humidity and auto-turnoff so getting the right humidity level is not difficult. The EPF wick didn't release enough moisture for the humidifier to turn off once settings were reached. I have family members that live in Oregon that use a similar humidifier but, because the outside humidity is higher, they can use the EPF wick with no problem.

Less cost and shorter use
These were cheaper and looked good in picture and also in person. However they lasted only less that 30 days. The others I have used (brand name) have only had 1 to 2 changes during the winter. I usually start the humidifier in late Nov and end in late March. Will not purchase again.

You Get What You Pay For
I bought these filters because, compared to the OEM filters they were far more economical since our console humidifier uses four at a time. They took a little extra work to fit into our unit, but that wasn't the problem. That came when the time came to change the filters, and we discovered that the paper had utterly disintegrated, leaving soggy paper fragments and pulp all over the inside. No more "bargains" for us. I recommend using something more akin to the name-brand or original filters.

Garbage. Zero stars.
These are junk. They do not work at all. We got these instead of the papery kind that tend to fall apart after a few months. We are just wasting electricity running the fan. They don’t wick at all. After a few weeks the humidifier is saying to clean the filters. They aren’t dirty the humidifier just thinks they must be since they don’t work. The humidity never gets above 20% (but I think that’s the lowest number it will display so it could be zero) regardless of the settings. We’ve had them less than a month and I’m already trying to replace with the other kind.

Filters Work Extremely Well. Cheaper than the filters of the more common brands.
I have used these filters over the last 2 winters for my humidifier. The filters have worked extremely well and have only used 2 sets over 4 months. Like the metal support in the center as it keeps the filter from sagging. For those who have had issues with longevity I would suggest the problem is not with the filter but your water that you are using. Minerals like calcium will build up quickly and harden not allowing the water to be absorbed by the filter. The harder the water the shorter the life span of the filter. Using a water treatment in helping prevent calcium and lime buildup will greatly enhance the life of the filters.

DON'T BUY THESE - They work horribly!!
Could not find the regular ones on Amazon, so we tried these. A little harder to install & you have to watch out for the sharp aluminum center. They kind of worked for a week, then would not wick or humidify. DO NOT BUY THESE ONES!! Lowes has the real ones - buy them there!

These Filters Work Fine
I have used these filters several times and they work fine. But this time when I got my order, there were 4 filters just put in a box. There was no information of the type of filter or the make. I thought it was rather odd. This shouldn’t affect the performance but to order next time, I will have to go back to Amazon to get the exact filter I ordered.
