The New York Times Mega Book of Sunday Crosswords: 500 Puzzles

The print is kind of small for older people.

I’ve bought several of these puzzle books with 50 puzzles in them but finished them too quickly. I love having so many in this book! It is heavy and hard to hold so I tear about a dozen out and put in a binder of clipboard to work through.

The ONLY crossword I ever do is The New York Times. A lifelong habit, I have learned so much from completing them that I keep a notebook handy to record a new word (after 50 years of incessant reading, a new one will still pop up) or an amazing fact. Some constructions are a true work of art. Will Shortz, a god, is from Indiana and so am I.

He expressed issues other people have mentioned. The printing is pretty small. Sure wish the clues were on the left side and the puzzle on the right flat side for writing. Other than that the book is a challenge for him and he is good with that.

Difficult puzzles

I love to do difficult crosswords, and the New York Times crosswords are some of the best. I buy 1 or 2 of these collections each year. Just great entertainment that keeps my brain sharp.

It's the size of a phone book and will take me a long time to do all of the puzzles. What a great deal!

I am a crossword puzzle fan. The more challenging, the better. I am 70 years old and solving the difficult puzzles is good brain exercise for me! 😁

An essential pastime for me

My hubby and I are always looking for the NY Times puzzles. They are the best. The puzzles in this book are tough, but we like a challenge and this will keep us busy for a long time.

Easy way to buy a crossword book for a Christmas gift. My dad loves crosswords and these books keep him busy!
