Bicycle Mechanic Must-Have!
In the upper pockets of my work apron I have exactly two tools: A pair of fine long needle nose pliers, and one straight ended General Tools probe. The probe is incredibly valuable for bicycle repair work. I've nearly worn down the straight version in my current set and have a backup set in the packaging just in case.Use cases include correcting pinched cable housing ends after cutting to length, as a pick for removing dirt and grime, particularly for scoring the grooves on derailleur adjustment screws to remove caked on dirt so that you don't strip the heads with a screwdriver when adjusting, or trimming off grime from jockey wheels by cycling the crank (a good stage 1 level of cleaning). Can also be used to, in fact, probe around where fingers cannot reach with shifter/cable situations. Essential when working with freewheels and internally geared components where you need to pry a piece of spring steel or leverage a pawl. Also useful for rolling grease onto inner threads before reassembly in tight spaces such as pedal cranks or crankset assembly work. Setting and spreading grease into threads is important, so that you're not just pushing grease out as you screw something together. Lastly, you can use a probe to gently pry underneath old handlebar grips in combination with spraying alcohol to release the grips from years of tack assuming you do not have an air compressor with a blow gun attachment to do the job.Great tool with good durability and many uses.

They are easy to break in the center of the handles
The manufacturer needs to extend those steel for the full length of the handle I’ve had two sets and I keep breaking them right in the middle

How does one live without these?
My husband was always stealing mine, so I bought him a set for Christmas. Now we each have what we need
