I'm (still) a believer!!!!
UPDATE 8/11/18 The grip heaters are still going strong. Know, however, that the ATV is used for work around the property and plowing snow in the winter, so actual hours are pretty low. The grips have worn (smoothed) just a little bit more than I think they should have under the use they've seen, but still a great product, in my opinion. EDIT 5/29/14 Using these grip heaters over the winter has solidified my opinion that these are a "must-have" for any ATV used in cold weather. The heated rips coupled with good leather, insulated gloves kept my hands comfortable during a few several-hour plowing sessions in sub-zero temps. Even in mid-fifties weather this spring, it's nice to have them on the lower setting for just a little added warmth with light gloves. ORIGINAL REVIEW As others have stated, these grip heaters WORK. The separately-set grip and thumb-warming elements allow for adjustment of each. (So far, I usually end up with thumb one notch higher than the grips.) Even on a "cool" rather than "cold" day, the heat is a welcome addition. Time will tell how they handle single-digit temps while plowing snow, but I have little doubt they'll be effective. Like others have suggested, I chose to connect the system to a key-switched power source. This provided two important things: 1) Automatic shut-off when turning off the ATV, and 2) A fused power supply. On my 2008 Grizzly 450, I used the accessory plug in the right-side fender. ...And don't worry, the system returns to the same settings it had before power was removed. Installation using the 3-times-applied WD40 worked like a charm, with the grips sliding on effortlessly. I will caution users, however, to twist the grip to the desired position immediately upon installation, as waiting even 5 minutes will result in a grip that is almost immobile. Since I'm rather particular, for the left grip, rather than having the wire run around the switchgear, I removed the switch assembly and, using a Dremel tool, cut a small relief notch in both sides the plastic housing. This allowed me to run the wire *through* the switchgear, instead, making for a cleaner installation. If/when we add another ATV to the herd, these grip heaters will be one of the first modifications made.

good, no issues.
I like these hand and thumb warmers. They install quite easily and they warm up quick when you turn them on. You can select different zones for the grips or the thumb and have them set differently. The controller has 5 levels of heat and the 5th level can get quite warm to the touch. I have used these in combo with some handlebar mitts when it gets really cold out riding and my hands stay toasty warm even at -4F. The controller can be mounted to the bars, and that mount is not the most rigid or sturdy, but will work, or to your dash area. Recommendations: the directions for the installation have you wiring these directly to the battery and not to any ignition powered circuit. Also this system does not have any fuse for the system. I wired mine to a fuse and an ignition powered relay to it so it will not drain my battery if I forget to turn it off.

Not too crazy
I chose this rating because the mounting bracket is poor, you cant turn the grips and the thumb on at the same time????? The grips do not get that hot. they fit great, easy to wire up but when it's cold you need the heat on both. I don't think I would recommend this because of the switch control.

Awesome!
I love these grips. We recently bought a used atv and it had these grips on it; I liked them so much that I bought a new set for my other atv. The set I received was actually Heat Demon by Symtec; the exact same things just has a black controller in stead of the grey one. It was a pleasant surprise as i actually wanted the heat demon for the black controller but didn't feel like paying extra for the exact same thing just in a different colour. Anyways! The install was very easy with on a 2013 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. I soaked the grips in hot hot water for a few minutes to soften them. I did this after one failed attempt at installing one of the grips. So if you want to save yourself a bit of a hassle soak them in hot water. The grips and thumb warmer get hot! Its awesome! I went on a good long ride this morning; my first real test with the grips. It was 8-10 degrees celsius and they kept my hands and thumb nice and toasty on a mid range setting without need for gloves. The grips were very solid and comfortable. Even on the hottest setting for a long period of time they did not loosen or spin. The controller is very easy to use and is not overly large. The ability to dim the lighting will be a very handy feature for riding in low light conditions. I would without hesitation recommend these to anyone and will be buying another set when the time comes. Needless to say I couldn't be happier!

Don't last, symtec gouges on replacment parts.
Put these on a 2009 Honda Foreman. The machine currently has 1500 miles on it, so these probably lasted about 300 miles before the left grip stopped heating. I checked the wires and wires going to the grip were loose and a slight tug separated them from the grip entirely. I contacted Symtec and was told to buy another set or buy a replacment grip for $30+. A new set of grips (without the thumb warmer and controller, which I could reuse) isn't much more than they wanted for one replacment grip. Can't stand compaines that put out a sub-par product and then gouge on replacment parts. I'll be replacing these with another brand, and advising my customers to avoid these.

I installed these on my Honda TRX350, fit was great, the lock-on style grips are easy to install and very secure when tightened. Total current draw with the grips and thumb warmer on high is 3 amps, so not a huge load. I wired mine to be powered by an ignition relay so I don’t forget them on when I shut the quad off. I’m also using gauntlets that cover the entire grips and hands, and in -10C, the grips were way more than warm enough on high, and the five temp settings cover all conditions nicely. My only complaint is that the included instructions did not match the exact product, and features of the controller aren’t described. Pushing and holding the select button turns the whole system off, and a press of the same button turns it on to the same heat levels it was set to before it was shut off. Pressing and holding both buttons dims the display LEDs, a good feature for night riding as the LEDs are VERY bright otherwise. Repeat the process to switch back to full brightness. I found this additional info on a Symtec / Heat Demon video on youtube. Overall very happy with the product.

I have used these grips now for about one month. They are super to use and fitted nicely and have remained tight. I didn't apply the rubber shrink to the thumb grip as well as I should have but it is ok, I should maybe have also applied some super glue too for the edge. What a difference they make.. They are simple to adjust for temperature and very warm.

Bought these for my Yamaha grizzly. Easy to install and they work great. The clamp on style grips go on super easy and don't move at all. It's nice to be able to regulate the amount of heat output, this unit has 5 heat levels on the grips and 5 levels on the throttle which can be adjusted separately. The soft grips are grippy and actually nicer than I was expecting. Way better than the old hard plastic ones.

Unit easy to install and works awesome, thumb warmer heats up right away, hand warmers take a little longer but work perfectly 👌

Installed on a Honda Foreman. I Cut off the old grips , lightly sanded the metal handlebar on both sides and the new grips slid right on, No WD40 Needed. I used a splice connector to connect the Controller Red Power wire to the white & black stripe wire from the 12v outlet . It's a key switched connection, best to use this so there's no leaving them on by mistake when machine is not in use. Don't wire directly to your Battery. Instructions say not to ground it to vehicle frame? which was confusing. I added extra wire onto the Black ground wire and with a crimp ring connector I grounded it to a U bolt that holds my winch plate to the frame. Save your investment & possible future failure by putting some dielectric grease on all connections. Everything worked fine and within about 7 minutes both grips and thumb warmer were HOT. Getting the Controller mounted & wiring tied took the most time. Ill definitely enjoy Plowing & Riding this Winter Season
