2 YEAR UPDATE: The mailbox has held up beautifully! The neon yellow sticker for the delivery market fell off a while ago, but other than that, it has held up flawlessly. The extra space inside has also been wonderful, as larger packages can be left there and not on the porch, exposed. Still five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ —— My neighborhood has matching iron mailbox posts with the street number hanging above the box. When someone came through the neighborhood bashing mailboxes, ours would no longer close, soaking our mail on rainy days. I needed a replacement that was not any taller than our existing boxes (so it wouldn’t interfere with the number marker). This box fit the bill with the added benefit of being wider to allow for wider packages. Installation was easy, though I did need to drill two holes 1/2” off from the original mounting holes. Overall, I’m very pleased.

I like this mailbox overall - the large size of this box and the "mail has been delivered flag" are nice features. One thing I found mildly annoying is the fact that you have to buy a separate mounting kit if you want to mount it properly to a standard 4" x 4" post as there is only one drilled hole on each side of the base that would fit on a 4" x 4" post - it would have been easy to add another hole 1 1/2 inches apart so that you could mount it directly to a 4 x 4 without the need for an adapter - that is in fact what I did - I drilled my own additional holes - one on each side so that the box now has two screws on each side into the 4 x 4 which anchors it solidly and prevents any back to front rocking which happens with only one screw on each side. Other than this issue the box seems to be very decent for the price.

This is (for us at least) the perfect mailbox. The size and shape allow for almost any USPS Priority box to fit neatly inside (of the non-large size) and holds even larger bagged items such as clothing (jeans, shoes, etc.). We purchased our first one several years ago at our old house and I even considered taking the mailbox down before we listed the house ;-) - we did not but we did replace the mailbox at our new house with one of these. Aside from the overall size/capacity the feature we like the best is the "mail is here" flag. When to lid is opened up the flag on the side of the mailbox raises and is visible from your window/door so you know when the mail has been delivered. My only two "niggles" are the yellow sticker on the underside of the "mail is here" flag fades over time and becomes less visible - this is only an issue if your mailbox is a far distance from your window/door. This issue is easy to resolve with a new sticker. And the second issue is that this (due to it's size) doesn't use standard mailbox mounting brackets/plates so replacing your old mailbox may require the removal of the old bracket/plate. This too isn't a big deal and the second (more recent) one we purchased solved the issue with a different mounting method that could use an existing plate/bracket or directly on a 4x4 post. My in-laws mailbox was recently destroyed by a schoolbus and we ordered one of these for it's replacement - my in-laws lover theirs too now and don't waste their time checking for mail that hasn't been delivered yet.

I adore this new mailbox. I actually had the same one previously for about 10 years and it was perfect until I got too close to it one day with my car and screwed up the hinge for the door. The new one mounted with ease onto my existing Home Depot wooden mailbox post with arm (nothing fancy). I took that little yellow "Mail's Here!" arm and put if on the left side, then I strapped a little American flag to it so I could more easily see if from inside my house about 80 feet away. The flag also camouflages the significance of the "Mail's Here" arm -- when the postman has delivered the mail, the Stars and Stripes pops right up!. When I pick up the mail, I lower the flag but still keep it at an appropriate angle. In either position, the little flag just looks like a decoration -- it doesn't scream out "Mail's Here!" (just to me!). Another good thing, I can see the popped up flag as I pull in the driveway even though it's on the other side of the mailbox so I can see it from inside the house. I think the manufacturer should rethink its "received mail indicator" and turn it into a taller U.S. Flag. After all - they call the mailbox the "Patriot!" I've had this new mailbox now for a couple of months and it's working great. I especially appreciate that it can hold packages and magazines/catalogs lay flat. POSTSCRIPT on 8/29/24 - so it seems to be 5 or 6 years since I bought and installed this mailbox, and everything is still working fine with it. It's built to last!!! :-)

This box is the same as the old Rubbermaid mailbox. This one was to replace an older one clobbered by a snowplow. These are the most durable mailboxes I have found. Mine is mounted on a Minnesota DOT style mailbox swing away stand (look it up). They usually last me 10+ years of Minnesota climate and assault by overwide farm implements, snowplows, 40 below temperatures in the winter, and 90+ temperatures in the summer. These are way better than any other box I've tried, metal or plastic. They are also wide enough for a magazine or large envelope to lay flat. They have a nice little paddle on the side that goes up and stays up when the door is opened, handy to know the mailman has gone by. There is no provision to lock the box, but I don't need that here. The box will sun fade after a few years. It doesn't affect how it works but could be cleaned up with some paint. Number stickers will stick to it if you clean off the sides with alcohol first.

Upgraded the posts and mailboxes at our condo association. These mailboxes are large enough for a magazine to lay flat, for many sizes of packages to fit without having to jam them in, and still have room. And the little yellow flag on the side pops up when the mailperson opens the box to put mail inside so you don’t have to guess whether your mail has been delivered yet. Made from thick plastic for strength, color will not fade. Easy to attach to post of your choice.

Parfait, tout en plastique, ne craint donc vraiment pas la rouille. Seul problème, le support adapté n'est pas dispo en France.

Lieferung hat ca 1,5 Wochen gedauert und ist in Deutschland problemlos und ohne Zwischenfall durch den Zoll gegangen. Paket kam super bei mir an und ich habe es direkt ausgepackt 🙈 Ich war anfangs sehr erschrocken wie groß er wirklich ist. Dies hat sich aber bereits nach kurzem Einsatz als sehr praktisch erwiesen. Nun muss der Postbote nicht mehr für jedes kleine Päckchen ca 250 m zu unserem Haus laufen, sondern kann es direkt in den Kasten schmeißen. Ausserdem ist er absolut wasserdicht und die Post bleibt garantiert auch trocken. Ausserdem ist er extrem stabil. Eine Montageplatte habe ich mir selber aus Siebdruckplatten gebaut und dann auf einem 6,5 x 6,5 cm Pfahl geschraubt. Dann eine stabile Einschlaghülse mit Schnellbeton in den Boden gesetzt und anschließend den Briefkasten montiert. (Bilder folgen noch) Wer einen einzigartigen Briefkasten sucht ist hier auf jeden Fall richtig. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

I like the size of this mailbox, will be able to fit a small package. Very easy to install and appears to be withstanding our weather. Only complaint is that the door has to be pushed closed, or it can pop open
