"Claire Danes's performance remains a TV marvel" (Price Peterson, Vulture) in the fifth enthralling season of the Emmy(R)-winning series "Homeland." Now working at a private security firm in Berlin, Carrie is trying to start a new life, but she soon discovers she can't escape her past. Blindsided by stunning betrayals, and without Saul (Mandy Patinkin) and Quinn (Rupert Friend) to rely on, Carrie must uncover a deadly conspiracy that puts thousands of lives at risk, including her own. Review: Good series - Such a good series Review: Back to being very good to great - The 5th season of the series is set in Germany. It finds Carrie out of the CIA, working for a private company, Saul and Carrie barely talking, and Quinn taking out terrorist targets for Saul. I will not go into any more detail than that to avoid giving anything away, but the season involves Russian infiltration into the CIA, a major terrorist threat, chemical weapons with a Syria tie-in, and an Edward Snowden like hacking angle. I think the show is holding its own well now that it is a couple seasons removed from getting itself out of the Brody storyline (although there is a good easter egg like reference to Brody, which happens in an episode which flashes back to Carrie's time in Iraq. The writers packed a lot into the season and had a lot of thought-provoking, and almost clairvoyant angles (given what has been going on in the US the past couple years). The acting was again top notch with Rupert Friend, Claire Daines, and Mady Patinkin all standing out at different points. Miranda Otto is a good addition to the cast this year, as a character who has ties to almost every character and plays a large role in the season. For those who get the discs, the show looks and sounds great on blu-ray. Thankfully, there is still a season play mode for the discs so you can stop and catch back up where you left off, even in the middle of an episode. There are only a couple extras. A feature on the evolution of Carrie as a character and a behind the scenes feature on using Berlin as the setting for the season. They each run about 10 min. Good for what they are, but not a ton of material. For die-hard fans of the series, it is a must get. I think even the people who got sick of the Brody story arc in season 3 will find this one enjoyable.

TRUST NO ONE. A NEW LOCATION AND A GREAT CAST
I just can't seem to get enough of lovely and talented Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison. This season former CIA agent Mathison is working for a private security firm in Berlin, Germany. Although she is happily living with her daughter and coworker boyfriend, she can't escape her past. Her peaceful life is soon shattered as terrorists plan an attack on Berlin. Season 5 is typical "HOMELAND" but with a couple of twists. Carrie no longer works for the CIA and the show is actually filmed on location in Berlin. It's nice to see Berlin and to see some good German actors in strong roles. Needless to say, nothing is ever as it seems and don't trust anyone. Carrie becomes a "marked" woman and must go undercover to save her life and the lives of thousands. Homeland is stylistic, well-acted and spell-binding if often contrived. It's hard to imagine an ex-CIA agent having access to CIA files and staff as Carrie does. Yet, we can dispend belief and go with the flow. Danes is fantastic as always and returns to new heights of acting when she goes off her "bipolar" medication. For some reason bipolar Carrie can think and rationalize better a terrorist plot than a medicated Carrie. As always, HOMELAND's force is the fantastic ensemble of actors. It's also the new players each season who are incredibly talented as the terrorists bent on destruction and the couple who always have a conscience and want to do the right thing. I'd like to see these actors again in starring roles. I was especially mesmerized by Ercan Durmaz as Faisal Marwan. The fear and terror in his eyes rocked me to the core. Again, there are some seriously great actors in guest roles on Homeland. Season 5 can seem a bit slow. The plot and subplots and list of characters and sorting out the good from the bad can be overwhelming but that is HOMELAND. Season 5 has been spiced up a bit. The location and pace has changed but again, we're dealing with Islamic terrorists along with the Russians and the usual CIA traitors. Carrie has to thwart another terrorist attack and hackers have unintentionally gained access to top secret CIA files that could harm the German government It seems routine at times but somehow it keeps working. Miranda Otto is delightfully deceitful and evil and the head of the CIA office in Berlin. It's the cast that makes this show so incredibly addicting.

Still good captivating
The series have started to all run together for me I’ve watched six so far. We are still in the middle East a lot with five and have learned how some of the people will react. You can depend on Carrie to get in the face of anyone even though she claims to have changed. Not!! Peter will kill your a$$ if you look cross eyed at him. Dol is always conniving and Saul is always the the good guy or tries to be. Thanks

Surprised I like this show
I bought this for my husband and together we watched the whole series. I was surprised that I found the show entertaining. I am not usually one for international conflict type shows or movies, but this had a lot of great character building.

I have been a fan of Homeland from the start and enjoyed season 1&2. But season 3 really went down hilll.... So I was not sure to watch season 4 but I'm glad I did as it had as they have killed off Body and got out of that story which was great to start the series but went well to far by the end of season 2 and way to much by 3! Then watching season 4 it had came back to what started as a great show had started to come back as we were now moved to Pakistan and was alot more about the danger in one Craziest countries around terrorists with Carrie as one of the top at C.I.A. Trying to Protect her Country and her friends but facing unclear loyalties from the Pakistanes. Which is edge of your seat action. But season 5 picks it up more about the danger of the terrorists planing attacks all over Europe and as this was started filmed at beginning of last year it was was like they had a way to look into the future as when the show was being shown we had the Paris attack and then after show the ended Brussels attack too. This season was set in Berlin and Carrie has found out by mistake that someone in the C.I.A loyalties are not for their country anymore and is going to kill Carrie as she soon will work out who it is and if that happens they have a attacks in Europe and Berlin that Carrie most likely could work out! Great season with twist and can't wait to watch the next Episode and always on the edge of your seat! Awesome and can't wait for season 6.

Homeland Season 5 is great. This is a fantastic show, which just seems to improve with every season, and it started out great. I would highly recommend these shows to anyone who loves a well written story line and lots of action. Whether you binge watch or take you time going through each episode, they are worth every minute you spend watching. Fantastic show. Can't wait now for the next season to be released. :D.

Al menos ésta edición de la colección con el ASIN B01987ODMQ , no es una buena elección para hispanohablantes, ya que no tiene audio ni subtítulos en castellano o español latino tan siquiera , pero para quienes no tengan problema con el inglés es una buena compra
