The New Psychology of Leadership 1st Edition

THis book is a revision in deep of Social Identity theory applied to Leadership. Alex Haslam has managed the same topic in other books; but here, he writes about the leadership in wide sense of social psichology and then, re-interpreting the rol of leader from Social Identity conceptualization. I believe that is an interesting book, clear, easy to read and enjoyable.

Well-written, lucid, and backed by studies and examples, this is a genuine gem among leadership literatures. I felt awakened and see things differently with much more hope for the future. This should be required reading for all who aspired to make a difference in the world.

This is a comprehensive book, useful both as a textbook and a solid read on new perspectives to the subject of how leadership works best. It challenges lots of myths and reinforces many other time honoured practices.

Concise and clear read of a complex topic. Well researched. This book fits nicely with Strangers In Their Own Land.

As presented and very timely delivery

After reading the text, it is apparent that the authors fall into the trap of the "great man" theory. Two women are mentioned as leaders throughout the text, and neither get more attention than a few lines. In addition, the leaders and definition of leader as depicted in the text are Western ideas, and no time is spent on non-Western leaders.

This book is a must for anyone who wants to journey into the world of leadership or is already involved.
