Is this set appropriate for 4 year old?

If the four year old is very bright! Would have been ok for my GD but not her younger brother at 4! They are only 11 months apart in age! I gave it to her at 6 she loves it!

Please tell me the specific number and quantity or batteries that are required. A search for a 1170 Li I battery does not define the #.

There are no batteries needed for this magic set

does it come with a magic hat?

No it doesn't. I bought a magic hat that came with a rabbit you could hide inside. :)

Does it come with a DVD to show how to use the tricks??

No, it doesn't come with a DVD. I wouldn't recommend it, its not as cool as it looks+ the tricks are not that impressive. It give some basic knowledge of magic. My kid got bored in 2 days.
