GMMK PRO Frame = Fantastic!
To start off, I have only just built my first custom keyboard. I don't have any experience with keyboards that would be considered super premium, and any keyboard enthusiast would probably cringe at what I have used up until this point, maybe except for the lightspeed keyboard I had been using for a while. I liked the lightspeed until I came to realize how little I like full height mechanical keys.I just built a custom keyboard with a GMMK PRO barebones frame, silent black ink switches, and a set of low profile XVX keycaps from Womier. I absolutely love the keyboard, the keycaps might have to get changed due to RGB shine through being... not ideal. But that is my fault, the caps were advertised as recommending north facing RGB's since the legend is on the upper part of the keys.To speak exclusively about the barebones frame, I am aware that the keyboard market is full of options, and there are many enthusiasts who are very particular about their keyboards, for plenty of good reasons. The customization and personality, the feel and experience of each unique keyboard... It is a really fun concept that can also be a bit confusing and convoluted due to the depth of how complex some builds can be. This barebones frame takes a lot of the complexity out of the more deep and confusing ground-up keyboard building, and does a lot of the work for you :)The frame itself is hefty, solid, and built well. I love the simple but sexy aesthetic. The knob is really premium :o My favorite part though, is that this frame allows me to take my first step into the custom keyboard game, especially when I have always found my typing experience lacking. All you need to do after you get this frame is buy keyswitches of your choice, and keycaps. It really is that simple! Also, my setup was just asking for a little class and better fitting keyboard, so... :)Another thing to note is that the RGB is excellent and can be controlled simply with the frame (apparently, I haven't operated RGB with the frame yet myself) or by installing the software. The software is actually really good too, simple, and works well!Once more, mentioning that I am not experienced in a wide variety of keyboards, I can't speak on how this compares to other platforms. I can say however, that I love it! The solid build quality, awesome RGB and subjectively how clean and gorgeous it looks, leads me to really appreciate it overall and the experience it has given me! Highly recommended :3

Solid keyboard for gaming AND typing
As a college student who games and types a lot I wanted to get into the custom mechanical keyboard scene. This is definitely a really solid entry to it. I bought it while it was full price and of course now they can be bought much cheaper. However, even having bought it full price I think it was worth the money. If you’re coming a gaming board, this is going to feel crazy. It’s heavy, it’s quiet (maybe not the stabs on some boards), and it feels so high quality. If you’re already a keyboard enthusiast, you’re probably not going to like it. The stabs I mentioned before aren’t perfect by any means. The factory lube job is poor to say the least. I was lucky with only my left shift having any sort of rattle and its minimal. every other stabilizer feels great to me. The “Gasket Mounting” is very stiff and just feels like a sandwich mount. so if you want a flexible board be prepared to spend even more money on mods. But if you’re fine with a stiff board it’s not that bad.Good keyboard that I Genuinely enjoy, but you can definitely get comparable options for a better price although they may have trade offs, which is why i chose this board.

Beautiful but bad socket on one of the keys...
I have a GMMK Pro with flex kit, extra plates, extra cases etc... and found after modding it to be a great keyboard both sound and feel that has lasted the test of time. I was very excited to get this and to see that the front typing height is quite low, more like many custom boards rather than normal production units - no need for a wrist rest IMHO. The board in silver is simply stunning as well, fantastic finish on it!Sadly mine had a bad hotswap socked on the W key making it useless so I had to send it back and will need to wait on the credit before purchasing again. As I've built and/or reviewed over 75 keyboards the past couple of years I definitely hope I get a chance to check this one out soon.I'll update my review once I'm able to get another.

Good...minus some QC issues.
I love this keyboard! It's my first ever custom kb bought with the intention of it being a relatively uneventful build. It's HEAVY and sounds great with my Boba U4T switches and looks great too with the RGB and the Glorious RGB keycaps! That being said, there were a couple of QC issues that made this a somewhat frustrating build. The first was an issue with the "screw hole?" standoff breaking away from the frame of the front plate. Not a huge issue I suppose, but it came in the box loose, and I had to awkwardly anchor it with a pair of plyers to get the screw to tighten down. The second issue was the enter key was hard sticking in the down position. It felt like the keycap was being wedged down over the switch. It would not come back up at all without being pulled. I took the keycap and put it on another switch/standoff pair and had zero issues. So I swapped out the switch for the enter key, same thing. So I put a different keycap on it, same thing. I end up removing all the caps and switches and completely disassemble the keyboard. I get down to the PCB and take one look at the stabilizer and immediately know what the issue is. One of the two housing was literally like 'S' shaped. Of course they're supposed to be rectangular. So when the stabilizer was depressed, the inner square-ish piece was getting wedged in the bottom of the S-shaped housing. Pretty big bummer as all the other stabs worked perfectly. That being said, it seems that one of the biggest complaints with this KB is the stabs, so instead of RMAing the device and dealing with all that, I took the opportunity to just order some actual quality stabs. After being thrust more into the custom kb world than I anticipated, I still would say this is a worthwhile buy. Just be aware that there might be some quality issues that you have to address.
