Works Perfectly
I use this to switch between 2 different sources - CD player output and TV audio output, to shared speakers. I was a bit skeptical from reading the negative reviews. But didn’t have any problem - no humming sound, the mute button actually works, the volume control nob works too, the switching works perfectly (even during “hot switching” when both sources are active). Pleasantly surprised. It was a good buy, solved my problem.

Not perfect but workable
Poor isolation- the input channels bleed into each other so you still hear both sources when you only want one. Seems to be because the ground is common and not switched as the other reviewer mentioned. Would have been otherwise great. edit- Adding 2 stars, realizing that switching grounds would make for a more expensive design beyond a DPDT switch, and has its own complications as far as timing. Instead, I added a ground loop isolator ( https://a.co/d/4Fv8bu2 ) on my "loudest" input and and together all is good.

Custom volumes 4 ultimate extreme home theater system
Hey these little line volume controls have imprested me using them for a custom ultimate extreme home theater system with Dolby Atmos and DTS and all the formats that Dolby can dish out along with stereo these volume controls have really impressed me just an idea that I came up with to help control the line volume for all eight 5.1 surround sound systems being used as one complete system the reason why I'm doing this 2 give me more channels so I'm using these systems to do this project which has never been heard of it's a first all this was an experiment and it paid off and these volume controls here was just an extra idea that I came up with did not know that it would work but it did the control has two line in and one line out so you can connect something else to that line if you want to if you have one line on your radio these line volume controls are working great for this project it turns the surround sound system lines up and down or shut them off and not only that they control the uppers and the lowers and the very low all in one each volume I didn't know it would work but it did so if you have an idea or something or you just need an extra line to hook up a DVD player CD player classic cassette tape deck or any thing like that in between then this volume control may work for you because I know it's working for me but it is on the cheaper in but it has great potential it doesn't look all that great it's not all that fancy but it'll get the job done so I recommend it give it a try as you can see and hear it's working for me so enjoy I'm out of here later

Cheap construction; not built to last; died after about 5 months; Do Not Buy
Cheap construction. Worked OK for a few months then suddenly stopped working - no sound output at all. At first, I thought the problem was with the sound input that I was using but I switched the input to the other sound source and there was no sound from it either. The probability of both sound sources failing simultaneously is virtually zero so I replaced this POS with a very old A/B switch that I bought from Radio Shack many years ago. Turns out that both sound sources work fine. The problem was this A/B switch. I bought this because it was cheap and I figured that an A/B switch is a pretty simple piece of technology so no need to buy a more expensive one. As soon as it arrived and I saw the cheap construction I suspected it wouldn't last. I was right. Don't buy it!

very confusing how to operate
1. It will only play on set of speakers at a time, you can not play both set of speakers at the same time. The button on the left controls which set of speakers you want to listen to. 2. The buton on the left turns on the speaker you selected to listen to, it doesnt indicate which position the button need to be for it to be turned on. Why is this frustrating to me? I bought a new AV receiver/amp and I cannot get the B speakers to work, since it does not indicate which position the button needs to be in to connect the speaker of choice I need to do a lot of running back and forth to see if its on or not, would be helpfull to indicate on or off.

Simple and It Works
I bought this to split sound between my receiver and my PC to my Subwoofer. Being able to mute is priceless when my PC is off because it has a hum, but this solved the problem. The gain knob works as described. If you have feedback, its either the wiring or your audio output signal. I don't have to use a noise isolator for this.
