Chef Craft Basic Melamine Jumbo Turner/Spatula, 11.75 inch, White

I really liked this spatula. The extra width was appreciated on many dishes. The bad news, it broke after 2 months. The not-so-bad news is that it wasn't all the spatulas fault. I was smooshing a hamburger, to be flatter while cooking, and that is what broke it. The good news, I do like it enough I'm ordering a replacement.

This spatula works great for turning pancakes. It is made well and very sturdy. Highly recommend.

Do not buy. First time I used it and sat on the side of the pan it left the print of the rim of pan in it and actually started melting! I was only making hamburgers so I didn’t have it sitting there long at all. It’s not thick. Feels like if I tried to flatten hamburgers it would break right away. It’s melamine but not a good one at all. I absolutely do not recommend.

With all of the news stories about how we should think twice about using black, plastic utensils, I have been slowly replacing them with white utensils. This spatula is strong and wide, and easy to clean. We've been using it a lot, and so far, it hasn't stained.

I've gone through multiple spatulas over the past year, all of which had problems. This one is by far the best I've come across. It's heat resistant (laid it across the rim of a hot frying pan and it didn't melt at all, like several others have), easy to clean (smooth, no grooves for food to get stuck in), and sturdy. Solid value; definitely recommend. UPDATE: Dropping from 5 to 3 stars. Over time, the plastic coating on this spatula starts to wear through. Underneath is a rougher surface that traps food particles and is impossible to fully clean. This has happened with multiple spatulas (at least 3, maybe more). Still a decent spatula if you can get it for $3 or less but don't expect it to last long under moderate to heavy use.

Love these although one arrived broken.

I needed a new turner to use with my new nonstick pan. Bought 4 different types of jumbo turners — a nylon one, a silicone one, an wooden one, and this one. They all had issues, but this is the one I liked the best and decided to keep. I didn't like the nylon turner because it started melting with just one use. The silicone one was not big enough and the curve was not right. It was nice to use on the nonstick pan though, soft and quiet. The wooden one was the cheapest. It was comfortable, but very poorly made. The edges were not finished properly and sealed. Probably why it was so cheap. This melamine one was the right size and comfortable to work with. Since it's hard plastic, I do think it may chip with regular heavy use. Still love my stainless steel turner the best, but this is good too.

This spatula cleans up easily and won't scratch plastic dishes and metal baking pans. I had to get a second one because when I used my first one to stir boiling cranberries it became etched, so just avoid stirring boiling cranberries with it and it will be fine.

Maybe this cannot go in the dishwasher? Well it broke within a few weeks. First a crack appeared on the spatula bit and then about a week later , the handle snapped.

Smaller and not as hefty as I expected.

This was supposed to be made of melamine....it's not! It started to bubble up/melt, and one bubble was breaking up and bits of plastic were coming off of it! Authentic melamine does not melt or bubble up at all....this is just some cheap plastic material! Fake melamine!
