Because the shelf has a decorative purpose, this is one of those things I spent a lot of time choosing. The shelf works well for the spices and oil I use daily and looks really sharp above my range. I hope the picture helps you visualize how it might look above your range.

We replaced a standing range with a slide in range. i had left it to my husband to check to insure the backsplash behind the stove ran far enough behind the stove to cover the gap where the old control panel was before ordering the stove - and i should have done it myself because when the new stove came in there was an ugly 3.5" x 30" gap of uncovered dry wall. not only ugly but not safe to leave exposed dry wall behind a stove for fire reasons. after extensively researching options, i found absolutely zero options for a 30" panel. top it off, the expensive backsplash we have is discontinued (12 years old). so, this has solved what would have been a very very expensive backsplash replacement for under forty bucks!

Bought it to fill gap for the back of my stove gas line sticking 3 inch this did the trick. It covered stove rear between the backsplash and it is a stylish solution with the help of silicone clear glue

The fact that the maker does not supply wall anchors does not bother me. People should know that if they don't mount into a stud that they will need to get their own appropriate wall anchor- that's just being a smart DIYer. I had to deduct stars for other reasons.First, the edges are sharp! It would take nothing for the maker to polish the long cut edges of the steel. I had to polish down the edges myself.Second, the back mounting edge of the shelf is straight and level and mounts level. However, the front edge of the shelf at the lip is warped up from left to right. Of course, this warped shape makes the shelf look as if it is mounted out of level. Myshelf is right on the bubble when I place a level on the shelf, but the warped look is infuriating. There is something wrong with how the maker's machine is cutting the steel that results in a shelf that is warped up on the right end.I bought this shelf because of the lip at the front edge. But the shelf is warped and I would not recommend this shelf at all. I will never buy another shelf from ULTRAledge.

I bought this to use for a different purpose, but didn’t end up using it. I reorganized my laundry room entry area and though it might make a great little shelf for getting shoes off the floor. I also will put things on it that I want to remember to take with me when I leave. Hard to forget if it’s next to the shoes I put on before I leave. Works great. I did get some EZ Anchor 75 lb drywall anchors so it would be a little more secure. I only keep sneakers on it, I’m sure other shoes would stay on if they were sideways on their sole.

The stainless is nice, great even. The edges are cut on a 45° and ok. No mounting hardware was included. Thankfully had some drywall anchors and screws on hand. But now I have exposed fasteners so much less of a clean install - guess I'll hide them behind some spices.Also this definitely should have came with a protective film for removal after installation to prevent scratches.

If your range has digital controls, DO NOT THIS PRODUCT!!! The magnets will fry the controls. I have a fairly new range, year and a half old. Worked fine. First time I tried to use the oven after installing this, it wouldn’t heat past 360°. Read another review that said magnets interfered, but was ok after moving them further from control panel. Tried this, now the oven doesn’t heat up at all. Buyer beware if your range has digital controls. Replacement control panel is over a hundred dollars

Simple, clean lines and just what I was looking for to improve stove-top cooking processes. For the most part, it delivers. However, there were only two holes across the length of the shelf. And, the holes were very small. Drilling additional hole or making larger holes would have been difficult and would, potentially have dislodged some of the paint. That meant having to use thinner screws than I would have hoped. This translates to less utility given the restricted weight.

Keeps spices handy over the stove and easy to clean. Sturdy and strong. Looks great.
