Excellent lecture.
This book make you realize how medicine practice could improve with technology if every teaching doctor could think out of the box and realize that POCUS is the future and must be use and every day practice.

Innovative piece of work that is ahead of it's time
This is a very insightful read and covers material that is ahead of it's time, with the description of utilizing ever advancing technology in order to provide another dimension to the classic physical exam. As a gynecologist, who heavily uses ultrasound to help make medical and surgical plans, it was a very interesting to see how ultrasound imaging can be used in other areas of medicine. Dr. Istrail did an excellent job with this piece of work and I feel that it is a wonderful read for all physicians, as well as anyone interested in medical innovation.

Insightful and Enjoyable to Read
Medicine is a field steeped in tradition, which has some advantages but can also hold back innovation. Dr. Istrail pushes clinicians to consider a bold update to the most basic part of our diagnostic process: the physical exam. The book is a pleasure to read, almost like listening to a podcast. It is well-researched and provides a compelling argument for integrating point-of-care-ultrasound into standard medical education and everyday clinical use. It would almost certainly spare us from some unnecessary radiation, missed diagnoses, and inflated healthcare costs. I'm glad to be living in the POCUS Era!

POCUS MANIFESTO
Dr Istrail’s new book, “The POCUS Manifesto,” is a fascinating, persuasive, and beautifully narrated historical perspective of POCUS including how we got here and why. It’s a must-read for all medical students, residents, attendings and other medical professionals. POCUS is here to stay and will continue to grow rapidly. In some areas of medicine, such as the ICU, it will become impossible to practice without POCUS. We will continue to learn how to incorporate it into our daily clinical practice while understanding the limitations and pitfalls.Pedro Salinas, MD

It’s a must read the book, it’s not a how to book
If you’re a non believer in POC_US or on the edge and wondering if you should be using point of care ultrasound, this book will convince you! Dr. Istrail does a fantastic job taking us through the history of physical exam, noting its strengths and weaknesses. I found it very easy to read and didn’t want to put the book down. It would be an excellent book to give as gifts to those who don’t understand the value of POC_US.

A must read for health professionalsEntertaining and useful for all health care providers and students. The book is eloquently written blend of history, present, and future of the patient’s physical exam techniques. Provides facts and evidence for the pressing need for using innovative technologies: POCUS, in health care. Used at the bed side or in physician offices, the hand-held ultrasound can help diagnose issues faster, safer, more accurately and less costly.A must read!

Fascinating deep dive into the "Why" behind the imaging!
I appreciate the flow and readability of the book. It makes it much more fluid to pick up and less of a chore to get through, like some other reference materials. I really enjoyed reading the backstories on the physical exam findings, fascinating the level of "why" you dove into. I look forward to looking back on this to reference some of the histories in my own lectures and teaching.

Brilliant book
Love this book. Although POCUS can be used for a variety of purposes, this book looks at uses in pulm and cards. Based on these areas alone, the evidence presented in this book strongly supports ditching the stethoscope in most circumstances.
