Why do I only get five stars?
Oh. My. God.OH. MY. GOD.Why did I have this book sitting on my TBR for so freaking long? Why don't I ever listen when my friend is telling me: You need to read this book now!Can a book be hot and sweet in the same measure but all the way to a 100? Because that's this book!It gave me all the feels, I sighed, laughed, cried and swoon. The perfect combination of two of my favorite tropes: Sibling's best friend + Single parent. It was a beautifully written book with so many funny, swoon-worthy and heart-wrecking moments bundled into perfection!OK, first of all, this book hit home in so many ways. I know how difficult it is to believe good things are going to happen after a traumatic experience, I know how it feels to take the first step into healing because recognizing and acknowledging there's a problem that needs to be fixed is so difficult. That's why Cole's conflict felt so real and I felt all of his struggle in every page, I felt every bit of his panic in my very soul and I'm so glad we're talking about the importance of mental health in guys and how toxic masculinity has made us all believe they don't need to talk about what's bothering them. That being said, I loved Cole and Cheyenne! Their love story was an adult version of elementary school flirting with the kid you've had a crush on forever.Cole was so sweet and careful, especially with his daughter. His interactions with Mariah were so funny and real, he was definitely a fun dad. I fell in love with how he always tried his best to put his own desires below his daughter's needs. His road to healing intertwined with his passionate love for Cheyenne was so full of hope and invigorating to read. I was able to see and feel his love for her was real and his intentions were pure, even when he was blinded by anxiety. He was willing to fight till the end, even when he didn't know how.Side note: That's what anxiety does. It blinds you to the point you don't even recognize yourself. This is a serious illness that lies and deceives you. It should not be left unattended.Cheyenne was adorable and funny, I could see myself in her. I loved how she stood up for herself and her heart even when it was the most difficult decision. It was warm and uplifting to see such a strong woman like her even when Cole was her weakness in the flesh. It takes so much patience and understanding to love someone with chronic anxiety the way they need and Cheyenne proved she did in every step of their way. Her acceptance and welcoming heart was so heart warming to experience through the pages and it made me cry happy tears to read her happy ending.Mariah stole the show for me several times. Her innocence and pure heart made this book even more adorable than it already was. I loved how she was so supportive and protective about her dad and it was equally surprising and uplifting to see that it was actually her who taught him how to believe in love again. The supporting cast was hilarious! The friendships and close relationships they had complemented Cheyenne and Cole's relationship in the most perfect way.I loved this book so much and I will read it again.

A sweet, small town romance story
‘Make me yours’ is the second book in the ‘Bellamy Creek’ series and is about single dad Cole Mitchell, who is a cop and kindergarten teacher Cheyenne Dempsey. Both have known each other for a long time, they grew up next to each other and Cole is the best friend of Cheyenne’s older brother Griffin (who’s the main man character in the first book of this series). For Cole, Cheyenne has always been Griffin’s little sister but for Cheyenne, Cole was her first crush. The fact that he never saw her as more than a friend and married someone else broke her heart a little. Now many years later, because of certain circumstances, they both live again next to each other and everything is just like before, Cole sees Cheyenne like a good friend and Cheyenne still has a crush on Cole. But then one day something happens that open Cole’s eyes and now he’s looking at Cheyenne with heat in his eyes. Soon, they are more than friends and Cheyenne’s dream of building a life with Cole and his daughter is finally coming true but life is never that simple. Cole has scars on his heart, scars from losing his wife after she gave birth to their daughter. Will his fear of losing Cheyenne too destroy their relationship or can he conquer his dragon before it’s too late?‘Make me yours’ is the second book that I read from this writer and after reading and enjoying the first book ‘Drive me wild’, I was very curious about this story. Especially because Cole and Cheyenne were secondary characters in the first book. Just like ‘Drive me wild’ I enjoyed ‘Make me yours’ also very much. It’s a sweet and light read but still with a light touch of emotions in it but no drama. It’s perfect if you want to forget your stress for a few hours and just spend it in a small town, where friends are there for each other and two lonely people find love with each other. This may be a sweet story but the sexy times between Cole and Cheyenne are still steamy. I liked that very much too.You don’t have to read the first book to read this one but I would recommend it just because it was good too and you get to see Griffin and Blair (the main characters of the first book) in this story too. Both Cheyenne and Cole were very likeable characters, they were kind, loyal to friends, thoughtful and caring. I love the way that their friendship turned into something more. The secondary characters were great too, especially Cole’s nine year old daughter Mariah, she was so sweet and kind. In the story you get both POV’s.

Cole & Cheyenne
Small town single dad, COP, Cole is best friends and grew up next door to Cheyennes brother. The pining! I mean wow she had it baddddd which I think every girl can kind of relate too, wanting someone you can’t have for literally your whole life lol but Cole is so good, he’s so genuinely wholesome and he married and loved his high school sweetheart who died giving birth to their daughter. Talk about a heart wrenching story. Cole is protective single dad who is just living day by day until he’s finally seeing right in front of him. Cole’s feelings seemed kinda instant which intrigued me. Also the last 40% of the book I feel like Cole was in a sorta “manic” state from his trauma and wow this book really had me thinking about my own life and relationship. Honestly though the guy on the cover of this book made it all so much hotter too! Think about that man being a single dad to a 9 year old girl. Big time SWOON

It was precious & I loved the characters but really needed a bit more conflict and sass. But overall pretty good.

Rated R
Sooo good! I loved every moment of this story!!The mmc was so perfectly imperfect. I loved the nod to how heavy the mental load is on first responders. So often cops are written as arrogant and corrupt machines instead of human. The fmc was so solid. I loved her patience and kind heart. She had time to discover who she was, and she was settled. She was such a great match for the mmc. Her years of discovery helped lead him into his. She was never pushy, whiney, or mean. I loved her so much. The story was wonderful. There is great description without bogging down the plot. I truly feel like I know the couple and family by the end of the book. Great funny moments and heart touching scenes.*This book is rated R. The F word is used more than once. There is no violence. The spice scenes are explicitly detailed.

Totally yours
Congratulations, Melanie.

love love love…
I don’t know why but these small town romance books get me…This book was easy to read, I didn’t want to put it down. I loved how Cheyenne stood up for in spite of love. Loving someone all her life waiting for them to love her back made waiting for them all that more special. These two are meant for each other.. I’m afraid if I say more I’ll give to much away. I love how Cheyenne, takes Mariah in as a little sister. Cole is a very lucky man, even though he vowed to never love again he couldn’t resist Chey and her pure heart!

At this point, Melanie Harlow has become a one-click author to me, si whenever she releases I will definitely read it. She has a way with words and writing such beautiful stories about family, friendship and love like no other. In this case, as expected the story had everything I love: angst, longing and all the sweetness possible. Cole and Cheyenne are adorable together, but if you add sweet little Mariah, things are way better. If you are looking for a contemporary small town kind of read, following the story of a widowed father and his best friend's sister, please go for it. You will NOT regret it!!!

A good read
A good storyline, unusual, the first book I’ve read that features male panic attacks, but Cole was a typical man who wouldnt accept he had a problem and needed to see someone. Cheyenne has been in love with him for years, but he has a tragic past and a 9 year old daughter. Very romantic but sad too, but with a happy ending.
