So far so good
I received intuitive messages that I needed to start taking zinc along with my other supplements of probiotics, olive leaf, and vitamin c to battle massive dysbiosis I have been having in my lower systems for over 8 months. I've had resistant bacteria that is not responding to treatment, so I'm going the holistic route and using my intuition which is the only thing that really has helped me. Basically, I am building my immune system so it can fight off and balance everything out. There is a massive situation of people dealing with resistant bacteria and autoimmune issues and they are not realizing it's stemming from autoimmune stuff. When we give our bodies what it needs no matter what the label is about the autoimmune our bodies can do what it needs to do. I don't claim labels, but for years I had to treat what one would call Lyme Disease and other co-occurring disorders. I don't claim any of these things, however, I will take things that could assist these sort of symptoms. Another issue I have is whatever's been going on with the weather, it has been so erratic since December 2019 where I have had full on spring allergies straight through. I'm over 40, and I only get allergies in the spring, well, until December 2019. When my body is constantly bombarded with allergens that I'm allergic to and pollen floating around during times it's not supposed to and supposed to be frozen with snpw, my body gets so run down and constantly gets colds. But when I'm taking supplements like this it keeps me from getting them or knocks them out right away. I also noticed less allergies like my body is stronger to deal with everything. Anyway, I've been reading a lot of really amazing things on how zinc is used and a lot of it is not readily available. I also don't know if these are chewable or not but I chew them lol. No complaints here.

Zinc tablets in a nice bottle.
Pills are in medium circular tablets that do have a slightly chalky texture that is to be expected on zinc tablets. The bottle is easy to open and easy to dispense. I have no comments about the clinical effect of the product, but it looks nice.

Differentiator is "Albion" chelated zinc (tablets)
While I have an unusually strong immune system relative to other people (other people have expressed anger at me that I don't get sick when I'm surrounded by sick people), I know when I feel even a slight tinge of illness that I need to grab the colostrum, vitamin D3+K2, zinc, and vitamin C in order to prevent too much negative impact. I also grab this combination of supplements when I feel especially tired due to a string of long work days, because I know I'm more vulnerable to illness. All supplements, unfortunately, aren't made the same, so close attention needs to be placed on the supplement facts. The main differentiator provided by this Freeda product is the chelated form of zinc provided by it. Many brands claim that their products are more "bioavailable" or "more absorbable", with no explanations as to why, so I appreciate that embedded in the product description here is a brief explanation that this zinc is "formulated with superior amino acid chelate, which does not ionize in the gut", meaning that "it is absorbed at a higher rate than other forms of zinc, because it is the chelated form of zinc that is fully reacted zinc." But the balchem dot com website explains a bit further. "Albion Chelated Zinc is absorbed intact and breaks apart in the intestinal cell for transport. This chelate binds zinc to two organic glycine ligands, resulting in a low pH, highly stable structure that is easily absorbed. In a study comparing the oral bioavailability of zinc bisglycinate chelate to zinc gluconate, Albion’s chelated form increased absorption more than 43%. Other studies have shown the absorption of zinc bisglycinate chelate was also higher than zinc picolinate, zinc glycinate and zinc oxide, sometimes by as much as 300%." The tablets provided in a jar of this product are 30mg, but you might not need to take this much on an ongoing basis. It's important to continue to monitor one's body level of zinc, as it tends to accumulate. I recently read while researching optimal zinc dosage, for example, since the supplements I've used have varied greatly in this respect, that while larger doses can initially be beneficial it's also accurate that smaller doses are typically more appropriate downstream. Or put another way, a large dose of zinc may go to waste if one's body no longer needs it. While these "tiny tablets" are inexpensive, however, I personally don't care for the shape, which I find difficult to swallow.

good value, USA made
This is a nice large supply of chelated zinc tablets. They are small white pills, not chalky, easy to take, no bad taste. They are 30 mg, and you only need to take one a day, so with 250 in the bottle that's about an 8-month supply. It's a good-size bottle that arrives about half full. This supplement is made with TRAACS chelated zinc bisglycinate from Albion Labs, which is supposed to be well-tolerated and better absorbed than other kinds of zinc, according to studies. If you're going to take a supplement, might as well take the most effective version of it.They are from Freeda Health, which is based in Brooklyn, and appear to be USA-made (the bottle doesn't say this specifically, but there is a little icon of the US with the flag on the bottle, so I'm assuming that's what that means). I always am wary of taking supplements that aren't USA-made, since you never know what other countries' regulations might be for manufacturing etc. These are also kosher and vegan, if that is something that is important to you.I feel good about this brand of zinc and am happy to add this supplement to my immunity-boosting arsenal, and it's also apparently supposed to help support skin and eye health.
