These wicks have very consistent quality at a reasonable price
I light a menorah every morning. It provides the perfect quality and amount of light for my prayer time. I am saving a lot of money compared to using wax taper candles. There was a little bit of a learning curve in figuring out a good system for using these wicks, but I have found them to be of very consistent quality. I'm able to get two uses (approx. 2 hours each use) out of these wicks. I'm sure others have different ways of using them, but here's my process: 1) Fill oil cups to the brim, 2) Slide new wick into disk, leave about 1/4" (40%) exposed above. 3) Hold wick by head with fingers and drop lightly into oil cup (silver side up) and light immediately to avoid capsizing. 4) Repeat process till all cups are lit. 5) When finished, do not leave wicks in oil cups. Use needle nose pliers to grab and extinguish burning wicks out of oil cups one by one and place them into receptacle for next use. 6) For second use, use scissors to trim off top 1/10th of an inch of burnt wick, pull wick up so approx. 1/4" is exposed and then drop and light each wick into refilled oil cups. 7) At end of second use, use needle nose pliers to grab and extinguish each burning wick (make sure flame is out!) and then drop them in the trash can. Please note that trimming and reusing the wicks on the second use can be a bit messy and you don't want the ash and oil residue on your fingers and clothes, etc. So always have tissue nearby to wipe off the oil from the disk before reusing and to wipe the ash and oil from your fingers. Occasionally one of the burning wicks will capsize in the cup and go out. This is infrequent, but I have found that you can pull it out with needle nose, wipe off the silver side of the disk and with your fingers and thumbs shape the disk so that it is slightly concave and drop it back in the cup and relight.

Smaller and flimsier than expected, but they do work
From the picture, I expected these to be larger than they actually are. The disks are maybe a half inch in diameter and quite thin. They are rather flimsy, and if you aren’t very careful they will tip over and be useless. But if you take the time to gently place them on the surface of a pool of oil, cork side down, and then light the wick, they will burn steadily for hours.I have been using them in empty candle containers filled with reused vegetable oil. And they do make nice little oil lamps, as long as you handle them gingerly. Fortunately, they provide a little plastic tweezer for that. Just wish they were larger and more stable.
