Hydrofarm HGST Garden Soft Tie

Great for all types of plants!
This is a great garden essential. It is so easy to use and certainly much better than other alternatives such as twine, which often damages plants. It's quite easy to waste these ties, so cutting set lengths beforehand would be wise. The most important aspect of these garden ties is that it is soft, but very versatile. I've used these ties on my blackberry and cherry trees with ease. I'm planning to use these next on my climbing roses, a bigger card length and lower price would be greatly appreciated, no seriously just joking these are already reasonably priced. These ties work well, and I couldn't criticise the quality, even as a keen and stringent gardener. With that being said, I would have no hesitation in recommending these garden soft ties for keeping plants in their place. If you found my review helpful, please click the "Yes" or "Helpful" button to state this so I know its been a help to someone. Thank you!

Rubber cracks
When you use it on plants in the sun the rubber will crack after a few weeks, exposing the wire inside. Not sure how long I will be able to use it. Other ties bought in the past didn't crack and you could re-attach them to the next plant.

Great invention
Works nicely for tying up my tomatoes. Snip a few inches off with the secateurs, bend round the cane and stem, and twist. It's so nice to have wire ties that don't bite into your fingers, why did it take so long to invent this stuff ?

Definitely superior plant tie
I ordered this mistakenly thinking it was "just" soft plastic. In fact there is a metal wire running through the centre which is then covered by thick squidgy plastic so as not to damage plants (other makes have a metal wire covered only by a thin layer of hard plastic - not nearly so good!). The result is a very strong tie, great to work with but still soft and pliable. At £3.49 for 8 metres I reckon it is good value for money.

Good, but stretchy
I used these to tie back bamboo to ensure they're not damaged in high winds. The ties do the job OK, but tends to stretch. I tied them tight, but after recent heavy winds, I've noticed they are now a bit slack. Still, a good buy, and they blend in with the foliage well.
