Excellent feeder, tips in the review
Update: it's even easier to clean then I realized. The plastic slats that are used for the walls of the feeder actually slide out. I took a photo of the slats after cleaning my feeder.Excellent quality. It feels very study and well made. I like the color and that you can see if the feeder is out of seed. The top is attached by a wire, similar to other feeders. This can make it difficult to get your hands inside. However, because it's made out of materials that aren't porous, it feels like it cleans easier than wooden feeders. Everything rinses right off, and the squirrels/woodpeckers don't chew on it.With all my feeders I have two methods for cleaning (this feeder is no different). If I'm doing a quick cleaning I empty the feeder, spray it down with hot water from my sink sprayer. Then I use a soap and a sponge that is exclusively dedicated to bird feeders (change the sponge often to keep everything healthy) to scrub it clean. If I'm doing my weekly deep clean I do everything I mentioned but then follow it up by soaking my feeders in a mix of very hot water and vinegar to kill the bacteria. Vinegar isn't too harsh but still kills salmonella and other bacteria that can harm birds. Make sure to let your feeders dry completely before you refill and hang them. In the case of this feeder I find it's easy to spray out, and of course it's easy to soak in vinegar water. If you're trying to squeeze your hand inside, it can be a little tight. But overall it's not harder than some of my other feeders. It's delivered in excellent packaging and is preassembled. Is durable, attractive, and has a large capacity for seed. I definitely feel like this will last a long time. I saw a couple reviews that mentioned the landing for the birds is small, but when I got it I felt that it was appropriate. Medium birds like grosbeaks or jays could certainly use it. I recommend treating this feeder similarly to a platform feeder. While it holds most of the food in the hopper, I feel that it's important to clean it often to prevent salmonella outbreaks. That being said, I recommend not filling it all the way. When it's time to clean it, I recommend removing the seed that's exposed in the landing. Then dump the remaining seed into an empty clean container so you can clean and dry the feeder. It's important not to reuse the seed that was exposed in the landing because it may have poop on it and could cause sickness. However I still reuse the seed that was unexposed in the hopper. This is also why I don't recommend filling it all the way. Smaller amounts mean cleaner food in the end, and of course less waste.

Ordered from Canada and paid a lot more than expected.
I ordered from Canada and was surprised to receive an additional shipping invoice from FedEx for more half the price of the original product. I expected to pay hst but then there was more for customs clearance and a mysterious 'fee'. It's a nice birdfeeder and well worth $62 + shipping but had I known it would end up costing $130 ($62.39feeder + $27ship + $40.97 FedEx), I never would have purchased. Maybe best to offer only in the US?

Perfect for New England birds
Perfect feeder for my backyard birds. The mesh is fine enough to let water drip out to keep seeds from rotting, yet the holes are small enough that black oil sunflower seeds won't fall through. The top is wide enough to shield seeds and birds from rain, and I really like that the top doesn't have a split so seeds stay protected inside. The recycled plastic is very durable and easy to clean, I'll choose this over wood, regular plastic, or metal any day. I use an old gallon milk jug to fill the feeder and it almost fits an entire jug of black oil seeds. So far I'm getting chickadees, nuthatch, and titmice. Nothing larger yet, but judging by the wider hopper I believe grossbeaks and cardinals shouldn't have a problem.
