Works well
I was searching for a different product on Amazon and came across this light. I've been using a mill machine for years and never knew such an item exists. This gets light spot on!!This doesn't have any shadows!!Works well!!Easy to install!!Makes life so much easier. I don't have to strain my eyes anymore and I can see every detail of the work. The only downside, sometimes it's better not see some imperfections.....

Deceptive Picture of Contoller Size Relative to Ring Light
Superior separate ring light and controller for head compactness and mounting stability (I was constantly knocking loose my old combined light/controller by turning on/off and adjusting). This 2-5/16" x 4-5/16" x 1-1/4" controller is substantially larger in volume than the light itself and not representative of it's depiction as shown!I was able to mount mine via double sided nano (thick/pliable) tape with excellent hold and decent ergonomics on back of my old IBM Bino-viewer. The results were well worth the effort. The light itself is quite bright- I would estimate equivalent to 40w/600 lumens but heavily scewed towards the blue range at 6500K and dims easily to a very few lumens- quite acceptable for the vast majority of users/uses.All in all I am quite pleased with the quality and stability of this item but needed to take off a point due to the excessive size of the controller- requiring some creativity to keep it handy yet out of the way!

Nice Value
Purchased for a mini-milling machine, this is a nice compact light. The adjustable brightness is a very handy feature. One minor consideration is the slight time delay when first switched on. It's not really a problem, maybe a split second at most. It took a few times to get used to this minor delay, that's all.

Very bright
It feels fairly sturdy. The rubber tips where it holds the light to the microscope are very small. So far they are good, but I suspect they may break off. My microscope has scratches from the light ring that came with it, no it won’t be a problem. The light intensity adjusts from no light to brighter than needed. I like the separate control box with on/off switch. I let’s me keep the light intensity where I like it.

Works, but…
It works, but they should bring the control box in to the 21st century, it takes up entirely too much space in my already cramped lab. Also they need to include a translucent diffuser light cover. V

Great LED ring light
Easily mounts on my vintage Olympus stereo microscope.Color temperature and brightness are appropriate for the intended use and the step-less brightness adjustment is stable and covers a wide range (not always the case with dimmable LED lights).External power/dimmer box allows the ring light portion to be more compact than designs where the adjustment knob and power switch are on the ring. With some 'scopes that might not be a big issue, but IMO a smaller ring is always a benefit, as it's less likely to interfere with focus range or access to the viewed item. This could also be used for macro photography, but only on lenses with a medium or small filter thread.

Light is a perfect fit for my Nikon SMZ-1B microscope!
Excellent lighting. It is even better than the original flourescent fixture loop that came with the Nikon and may have cost only a tenth as much. Very satisfied!
