A good mid-range board.
I bought this motherboard to replace one that had blown a capacitor. The motherboard installed as one should, and has been working for the past 8 months. The BIOS was pretty standard. It worked as needed, allowed for some minor overclocking, and had all of the features that I looked for.I haven't done all of the upgrades that I intend to, so I can't speak to the high-end features like duel-GPUs or RAID arrays. The one complaint that I have about the product is that there weren't enough plugs for all of my fans, but my case (Corsair 900D) is comically huge so I can't really fault ASRock.I know some people care about case aesthetics, so I should mention that this is a great looking board. I took a good minute to admire the geeky-beauty of the blue brushed aluminum accents on the black board after I pulled it out of the plastic. It is worth noting that the first board that they sent me arrived defective. Thanks to Amazon's great replacement policy, the replacement went incredibly smoothly. They sent another (immediately, instead of waiting for the original to be returned as most companies do) and arranged for UPS to swing by my house for the original at no charge. I decided not to mark down a star because it may have been a damage in shipping.

Pretty good for a budget machine
I built this one last night using a Pentium G3258; the build went very well and it appears rock stable under standard timing and install settings under Windows 10. I did update the BIOS to the latest as recommended in reviews and I used their latest drivers from the website. I used some Kingston 1600 RAM Kingston Value RAM 4GB 1600MHz PC3-12800 DDR3 Non-ECC CL11 DIMM SR x8 Desktop Memory (KVR16N11S8/4) that appears on AsRock's tested RAM list and a 1TB WDC hard drive. I read the reviews carefully to see what other folks' experiences were and that's why I picked this one; I don't think you'll be disappointed. I'm using mine for an HTPC and general purpose living room machine; so far it does everything I ask it to quickly and with no fuss whatsoever. I'm not overclocking and doubt I will - I'm not gaming with it and want it to last a while. It runs cool and quiet with the fans set to silent in the BIOS.

Great value for the money, but not without some quibbles
Bought this alongside my Intel Core i5-4590 to replace my old AMD Athlon X4 860K and Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H motherboard, and so far, it's surprised me with how well it's done. ASRock doesn't always have the reputation of larger companies like Gigabyte, MSI, or Asus (ASRock is a spin-off from Asus, for the record), but their higher-end motherboards are quite often just as reliable as the larger brands, while also costing less. This particular model, the H97M Pro4, is chipset-wise the top-line model for non-K processors from Intel (the non-overclockable ones), but it seems to share a lot in common with its Z97 brother, to the point that apparently the "H97M Pro4" label above the second PCI-E slot is a sticker; ASRock allegedly used the same PCB for both the H97M and Z97M Pro4, presumably a cost-saving measure so they wouldn't have to duplicate effort. This isn't really an issue per se since the Z97 would work fine, it's just an odd quirk. The motherboard itself has a very snazzy black/blue/white color scheme (and it's a real black PCB, not the dark brown that most other manufacturers do!), with six right-angled SATA III ports near the lower-right corner. While this does help with reducing visual clutter, you will have to remove your graphics card to manage plugs if it's beyond a certain size. Blue aluminum heatsinks on the VRMs and southbridge do a great job of keeping everything cool, and front-panel connectivity is, with one exception, no worse than any other motherboard I've seen. "What's the exception?", you ask? The front-panel audio connector, which is located way out of the way, just under the VRM heatsink, for some reason (presumably to save a bit of space, since this board is a bit narrower than other micro-ATX boards). While my case's HD audio connector could reach it without a problem, it may be an issue with certain cases, plus it adds to visual clutter since you can't tuck the cable out of the way. It does work fine otherwise, and the ELNA caps do cut way down on annoyances like coil whine (my previous Gigabyte motherboard had really annoying coil whine, particularly noticeable when the system was working hard). The Realtek ALC892 onboard audio, while nothing particularly special, will do a good enough job to satisfy all but the pickiest of audiophiles. The board's UEFI is easy enough to navigate, and provides more than enough tweaks for a non-K processor build. Even more surprisingly (to me, at least), the UEFI supports full-HD 1080p screen resolution natively, so nothing looks stretched out or otherwise weird.Other than the issues I pointed out, though, it's one of the better values for your dollar as far as H97 motherboards go, and will probably serve you well for years to come.

I regret ever trying to get into PC gaming.
I have owned this hardware for months. The 24-pin power connection is too large for any normal human to be able to plug it in. I ruined my first PSU trying to fit it in. I just bought another and after using all my strength, anger, and frustration on it, I got it to click. Eureka right? WRONG. I think the force I had to use ruined the MOBO. Now I can't get my brand new PSU to disconnect from the 24-pin connection! I am going to look into the warranty, but I probably voided that by trying to use the force of the gods on it. My pc has been sitting collecting dust because the first attempt of me installing it left me so depressed I couldnt bring myself to try to tinker with it. Now that I have I feel even worse. I spent money on this, my brand new processor, and my PSU, trying to "upgrade". This has left me sick to my stomach. I thought this would be a fun hobby, but it has turned into an expensive nightmare. Maybe I made a mistake and caused a problem. I just don't know and don't really know anyone who can help. Honestly don't know what to do at this point other than throw in the towel.

mATX
Great board, but mislabelled - this is a micro atx board and is much smaller then advertised. Otherwise, worked wonders.

prodotto ottimo

good value to cost ratio
not quite as good as I'd expected given the supplier's description, board is quite small, and has some issues with recognizing certain graphics cards, still, it's pretty good value for what it costs.
