Fun for kids and adults!
What a fun way to get out explore with your kids. While on an expedition looking for samples to check under the microscope, we got swarmed by thousands (literally) of tiny bugs. We didn't know if they were mites or spiders so we scraped a few off and put them under the microscope. As a result, we were able to figure out they were ticks in the nymph stage! I was even able to put my iPhone up to the microscope and get a picture. Sick! We have also looked at spider eyes up close, cricket legs, plants, the list is endless! So much fun and great price!

Great starter/introductory set.
Can't say enough about this brand and concept. Love it. Comes with an educational journal and gives you something to go on and just the right amount of information and knowledge to go on to continue on after and do yor own experiments. I chose this kit alone for the workbook because most microscopes don't give any kind of books or journals to go off of. Love the entire kit. Bought it for my 5 yr old and she is really into it. We are having fun learning together. It's just enough learning to not be too boring and also give a nice foundation and taste of what it's like to get into the lab part of science.Oh I was leary about the microscopen but it works! I'm impressed and also don't feel like I broke the bank. I have twin3 yr old boys and they are pretty rough so if they get ahold of it accidently or somehow it breaks, I won't be so upset because the price is just right.The image is of peacock feather with the back light. It's brighter in person than through my camera phone.. the white washed out the feather a bit in my camera.

Great set to get kids interested in science!
Insight's Nancy B's Science Club® Microscope and Activity Journal is anabsolutely wonderful product for kids! The microscope is of great quality and Ilove that it has a light both on top and on bottom. It works perfectly and does30x, 100x, and 400x magnifications which is perfect for viewing even thetiniest of things. I also love that it comes with a few sample slides so you canbegin using the microscope right out of the box. You can also use the blank slides tocreate your own slides which my son just loves to do. My son is finding newthings to view every day and is really excited to use the activity journal todocument everything. Nancy B's Science Club® Microscope and Activity Journal isjust a great set to get your kids interested in science. I highly recommend it!It comes with everything you need to get started and it keeps your kids engagedfor a long time to come!

Great for the price
This was a cool gift for my science loving 8 year old daughter. My 3 yo also enjoyed looking once my 8yo adjusted each slide first. The other slides and pieces that come with the microscope have kept her busy and she still pulls this out several weeks later to look at things as she finds them. As an adult that has seen through an actual microscope, the quality is of course no where near as nice and resolution/focus is not that great... but at the price point it is as good as I would expect. Please note that not all settings will adjust clearly, but does offer a close (albeit slightly out of focus) view.

Nice!
I had a more advanced microscope in my cart. This is for my 6 yr old and I am teaching her at home. I decided to try on this to gage her Interest etc. It really is a fun tool and she absolutely loves it. We have looked at the prepared slides and I also ordered blank slides we made some ourselves (glass). The lens is not stellar, But I must say it captures a decent perspective and definitely keeps her attention. We spent almost 2 hours looking at things ..I am happy I went with this one to start with and will get a more advanced one in a few months. We plan to take this with us on outings and it wi be fine.

Excellent first microscope for a kid!
I bought this for my science-inclined 5-1/2 year old for Christmas. I opened it to set it up yesterday and was extremely impressed by the quality. It works very well! It came with a few slides and then several blank slides to do experiments with. The magnification works great!I can't wait to do the expirments with him (I think an older child could do them on their own but he is only 5). It comes with a lot of extra tools too!I bought a set of Learning Resources prepared slides to go with it and expand his set. I would definitely buy this again and would gift it to other kids in the family.

Awesome gift! 10 Yr old daughter loves it! Comes w/ blank slides to make your own.
I got this as a birthday gift for my 10 yr old daughter. She loves it. She immediately took it out and began making a slide of her spit. She was so happy there were blank slides she could make her own. It comes with pre-made slides, too. It’s very user friendly, requires 3 AAA batteries to work. Very durable for a child. The slides are also plastic, instead of glass, which is also user friendly for a child.
