Very good for weight lifting and even better for stomach health
I've been using this for quite some time for weight lifting; it seems to help with recovery. There is a lot a people that swear by l-glutamine and some that do not. It's a tool to aid in muscle gain, but you can lift without it and make gains just fine. It is supposed to boost hgh a little. I seem to lift better with it, but not like superman. It has just a small effect on me, but in weight lifting small effects are good. Don't buy this and expect to jump up in weight lifting; there is no magic supplement. Next and more important is the stomach. I do swear by this stuff for stomach issues. I gave this to my brother for ulcerative colitis and it seemed to clear it up for him. I also take this mainly now because of burning issues in my own stomach and it seems to help me when I take one or two capsules on an empty stomach in the mornings. In conclusion this stuff does more for the digestive system than for muscle, but since it helps both, it's a decent supplement. I want to say that l-glutmamine helps with muscle repair and is good for the stomach; but PLEASE consult your doctor if you are having any type of stomach issues because you many have a serious problem. If after you see a doctor and they cannot fix your stomach issues, then by all means try this stuff. Remember this is just a supplement for weight lifting, not a magic pill and for stomach issues it's more like a food. Cabbage has a lot of l-glutamine in it, but taking this is easier than eating cabbage or drinking cabbage juice. Also remember there is no substitute for healthy living and eating.

I love the stuff
The supplement is kind of like a medication for me, in the sense that I can always tell when I’ve taken it. I should say upfront that I have a history of strokes and I have had several brain surgeries. I am not making any medical claims, just sharing my experience. I feel that this supplement gives me increased energy and it also improves my mood noticeably. I take Ritalin and sometimes I don’t even notice when I’ve forgotten to take it if I have taken this. I also get some pains in my shoulder which a physical therapist told me is related to the fact that I have dysautonomia and it always helps with that. The fact that it helps with that is worth the price alone, since my shoulder is not really even responding to Aleve anymore. I love this supplement and I think it is definitely worth trying! .

It's a pretty big pill
Forgive me in advance, as this is going to be a very long review. I actually bought this product more than 2 years ago, but I bought it for a different reason than what I'm using it for now. You see, I originally bought this b/c I have Crohn's disease. I had read that it helps 'coat' the colon to protect it from further damage (i.e., polyps, ulcers, abdominal pain, etc.) I used it diligently for a few weeks, and then, quite honestly, got lax on taking it. It's a pretty big pill, and with my disease I take a great amount of pills...and I just got tired of taking a buffet's worth of pills! My thought was I'd take it (after I had a breather from all the pills) and I bagged it up along with other medication that I didn't 'need' anymore and stuck it away in my bath pantry.Since that time, I developed acid reflux. My GI prescribed me Omeprozole (that I have now been on for 1 1/2 years). Now that I think about it, it wasn't too long after I stopped the L-Glut that I was having problems with acid reflux. Anyway, I've spent the last 72 hours researching natural remedies I could use in place of the Omeprazole b/c I read the dangers of it, and quite frankly, it never really worked. It didn't matter whether I was on 40 mg or 20 mg of that stuff. In fact, 72 hours ago, after having 2 attacks with the reflux (gagging, throwing up ,etc) I took another 20 mg Omeprozole. Guess what? After awhile, I got sick again!!! So, I went on the hunt....I read everything about licorice, L-Glut, marshmallow, massit gum (or whatever) and several other things, but I knew I had taken L-Glut just fine in the past, so I took it out of its 'cave' and I took one before I ate. I was reluctant to eat, so I also took a 20 mg of Omeprozole (I haven't weened off those yet) just to be certain. Waited a little while. Then I ate. Believe me when I tell you all, I had the biggest meal tonight that I have had in the better part of almost 2 years tonight (and that includes holidays). After I enjoyed my luscious meal, I took one more L-Glut (as someone suggested), and a few hours later.....I'm feeling no effect of the food or the meds! I feel normal! Now, to be clear, I JUST used the L-Glut again last night, but I'm going to try again tonight and every night for quite some time before I get the courage to lay down the Omeprozole for good. I will be sure to re-review (is that a word?) when I get to that point, but I'm sure I will order more of this beforehand. I just feel is sooooo important for others to read, so I posted a review now. I gave it 5 stars b/c I feel great! It's the first time I've felt normal in a very very long time. When I re-review in a few weeks, I will give the appropriate rating at that time.If this continues to work for me for the reflux, I will be more motivated to continue it for it's other benefits as time goes on. We shall see. I'll be in touch. God Bless. Jen
