How can I remote trigger a camera using this remote to control the flashes?

I have canon r so I can fire it one of 2 ways all while having a flash or tigger in my hot shoe. 1) My camera has both wifi & blue tooth so I can down load a app called Canon Connect on my phone. I can then fire it through my phone with a Tigger of speedlite in my hot shoe. Or for $20.00 I can buy a Canon remote ( BR-E1 ) that will let me fire my camera so I can check my flash using my light meter or if it's a family photo I can simple hide the remote in my hand so I don't have to set my timmer then hurry to get set with everyone else. I hope that helps you out.
