Perfect gift for the 914 enthusiast
Another great book to add to my 914 collection. Great vintage race photos and stories fo these often forgotten and misunderstood mid-engine sports cars

Essential for Porsche 914 enthusiasts library
I enjoy this particular book quite a lot, it is nicely written and well illustrated. It strikes a nice balance of first person recollections, period context for the car and races, and in depth data/information.

OK - limited coverage
superb book for 914-6 lovers; limited to a narrow list of top-level European & USA racing cars; not a comprehensive discussion of all racing 914-6s of the period, nor could one consider it a "how-to" for modern wannabe racers or clone builders

My .02.
I bought this as a present for myself because I like Porsche's, and I've always had a soft spot for the -6 variant since it never got the love and respect it deserved. As has been pointed out elsewhere, there are some technical errors which is always disappointing in a book that's supposed to be a reference, and not a cheap one either. Much of the text relates to race results, and the story line behind some of the races is a little thin. As a reference, it's definitely not on par with Karl Ludvigsen's Porsche: Excellence Was Expected. That said, the book is high quality and the pictures are great. Some of which are difficult to find elsewhere. Bottom line: It's a fun read for those interested in the marque or the model and a worthwhile addition to a Porschephile's library.

Excellent reference
Excellent book covering a lot of the more "obscure" racing Porsches. Great photos.

Too many errors. The first thing I looked up was the 1972 Nurburgring 300kms and it reads like it was written by a Martian who knows nothing of 1970s motor sport. Should get the text checked before going to publication.. Some nice pictures of 1970s GT races.
