This game is surprisingly fun and deep. In 2 player mode, it has a chess element to the gameplay, on top of guessing and bluffing element with the character cards.Each game can take as short as 5 mins or as long as 45 mins.In 4-5 players, the City can get super crowded.At the end, you will also create a satisfying City like the one shown in picture.

I can't comment too much on the game as I've only played it a few times, and only with two players so far. The rules are very clear and it's super easy to learn. Santorini: NY is similar to the original Santorini (which we absolutely love) in some respects but is definitely a different game with additional mechanics involving hand management and a shared pool of character abilities. At two players, we both agreed the game was good but the original was better. However, I suspect this game may outshine the original at higher player counts.As always, frequently poor packaging is the risk one takes when buying through Amazon who sent this game to me with absolutely no packing material at all and the game box arrived slightly dented and scratched. The scratches were almost inevitable as the new box is not shrink wrapped (the lid was secured with two small stickers - more about that later) and slid around the oversized packing box during it's intercontinental journey.Some comments about the manufacturing quality:1) The quality (look and feel) of all the plastic components are great. No problems there.2) The look of the cardboard components is good but the quality is poor to mediocre at best.- The board is double layered and looks good but it is warped and appears to be made out of really cheap (like almost cereal box cheap) unsealed cardboard. Definitely don't want liquid spilled anywhere near that board!- The cards are thick enough and look great but are clearly cheaply made and, putting it mildly, are frustratingly difficult to separate, shuffle and deal which is something you need to do repeatedly throughout the game. In my opinion, sleeving is almost mandatory for frequent plays given the poor quality of the cards so you may want to factor sleeve cost into your decision to purchase.- The box looks great but again the quality is poor. As mentioned previously, this brand new box was sent with no shrink wrap but small stickers to secure the lid (hence the scratching on the box surface during transit). Even whilst being fairly careful, removal of one of the stickers resulted in substantial tearing of the box artwork due to the poor quality of the paper/card stock of the box itself. I had to cut the stickers but leave them stuck to the box which looks terrible.Of course, my rating and comments about manufacturing quality might be overly critical given what I consider to be the relatively inexpensive price point (I paid AUD$35 with "free" delivery through Prime). Personally, I would happily have paid more for higher quality cardboard components but I suspect I may not be Spin Master Games' target demographic.
