Great build quality! Reliable, minimal desktop interface.
I've used this as my primary audio interface every day for over 5 years, and it has always performed great. Very solid all metal case, crisp and sturdy analogue dials. Functionality is simple and straightforward; has always played nice with every piece of hardware and software I've hooked up to it, and Presonus' driver support has kept it running on my Windows system this entire time. Perfect for somebody who wants to do some simple bedroom audio production, or just have more control over their PC's audio input/outputs.Some key features:- Provides 48V phantom power for a condenser microphone, etc.- (2) XLR / 1/4" inputs w/ built in Monitoring, and 1 MIDI input- 1/4" outputs for L/R Mains, (2) 1/4" outs for Lines, a 1/4" headphone jack, and 1 MIDI output- Is not an amplifier/pre-amp besides 48v phantom power, Only provides Stereo (2.0) output, it's not for Surround sound or a home theater setup

Wonderful interface with enough headroom to power some gain hungry mics.
When I first received it and installed the drivers, it seemed to work smoothly, but when I moved the interface even the slightest amount, it would turn red and refuse to connect, after about 2-3 restarts it has settled in and there are no more issues at all. It seems to be working wonderfully, and I'm going to assume there was some sort of driver issue that fixed itself. As far as the interface itself goes, it's solidly built, and I think very competitively priced. with the Amazon Harmony 10% discount it's barely more than the 2i2 but packs a whopping 20db more gain. This means you can power something like the sm58 or even the sm7b with a decent amount of headroom, and no need for a cloudlifter (although you may want one if you want a slightly cleaner signal)The noise in the upper ranges of the interface are perfectly acceptable considering how much gain you're able to get out of this little box.My only gripe is the headphone port being the back, which makes it kind of annoying if you're used to unpluggling your headphones after each use.

High quality pres, best in class headphone amp, amazing value
I went for this as it's one of the only interfaces that can actually drive high impedance headphones.I prefer to mix with Senheisser HD650's. These are 300ohm headphones. The headphone amp provided with the Studio 26 is so good, it makes these shine, and drives them with ease.On top of the that the hardware is of utmost quality. The pres are super clean and neutral, low noise and ready to be colors by your choice of plug-in. The metering options are nice as well.A/D conversion is great as well, this totally keeps up with my buddies Universal Audio Apollo Twin.

Great interface, bundled software is just ok.
This is an awesome interface. It records well, sounds great, and everything is pretty simple. The DAW (Studio One Artist) did leave a lot to be desired. First, it wouldn't load any VST plugins aside from PreSonus or bundled plugins. Now, the bundled plugins are pretty decent, but there are better. To use them requires a $75 upgrade to just run a VST, or $150 to upgrade to the studio version (with student discount) However, it was an awesome DAW, and very versatile and powerful.

Once you register with presonus and download the required drivers its all good to go
Initially thought it was dysfunctional since I'm use to the plug and play functionality of my old presonus audiobox 2x2 witch doesn't require special drivers to work, that alone tells you a lot about entry level audio interfaces. Once you register with presonus and download the required drivers its all good to go. The converters sound so much better then my last interface plus there's a ton of quality content that comes with this. If your looking to upgrade I highly recommend this interface as the next step!

Great discontinued audio interface
USB ease of use is nice. I replaced a 10 year old Presonus FireStudio Mobile interface that used a FireWIre PC card and it got flakey. I got this USB interface for $130 which is the lowest cost, highest quality interface I've seen.

Better preamps than the Audiobox
I had the Presonus Audiobox interface and liked it a lot, but the mic preamps on this one seem to sound better and also seem a bit less noisy. I do miss the cue/main fader that the Audiobox had, but for me the jump in preamp sound quality is worth it.

Works for what I need it for.
I use this studio between my iMac and Eurorack, I have my studio headphones and my HS8 Yamaha speakers connected to this and it works pretty good and my IMac picked it right up and my DAW’s see it with no problem and it works on my USB port along with my MIDI keyboard and my TR-8s all feeding into my Mac.
