I had the standard pad, round with the opening that you have to be careful to keep the padded side on the bottom. I lost it and didn't love it so I was looking for something different. Love this! I'm just trying to get it done at the gym, and the fact that I don't have to fidget with this as i maneuver it into place from the ground to my hips makes the work out smoother. It's much more padded than the standard one.

This was extremely painful to use. If you do barbell hip thrusts, it's comically too large to nestle between your thighs and stomach when tucked in to the starting position at the bottom of the hip thrust. Once elevated (which is painful to initiate and took my breath away because of how much it was pushing in to my stomach), you cannot get a full range of motion during the dip of your hip thrust.

I have the worst shoulder mobility but can back squat with ease with this pad. It's thick and nice on the shoulders and can be used for the other mentioned exercises.I recommend this!!!
