Fixed my issue immediately.
I was installing it before a weekend wheeling trip and needed it so I went to a local big box and bought it. This thing is stiff, if you want smooth shifting this is not for you. My 2009 Jeep JK would almost not go into reverse. It would grind hard and in 4 low it was worse I would have to fight to get it into reverse. While it is not perfect now, If I am impatient I can make it grind, it is 5000% better than before. There is a cheaper alternative to the B&M by Dorman, but I can not speak to that one. If you are having issues with your jeep popping out of gear or grinding into reverse this should fix your problem, if not it's time for a new transmission. On my 09 there was no saving the gasket, the glue had let go and it basically fell apart so do yourself a favor, unless yours is a later model Jeep, go ahead and by the Mopar gasket, it's like $54 at the time of this review.

100 % improvement than what Mercedes did.
My Mercedes-built 6-speed manual transmission that is in my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited was always popping out of first gear with a bang so bad that I puckered every time. I dropped the money on this B&M shifter and it was so worth it besides getting rid of the crapmission altogether. Mercedes should stick to making fancy pants cars and not transmissions. What a POS but at least now it's driveable. It's very tight and shifts greats. Thanks B&M

bitter-sweet
For the price that an Australian customer would pay, I expected an install and forget experience.Similar experience to a previous review by Bentley on 15/mar/22.This shifter was installed twice. The first time using the supplied rubber gasket, subsequent install using oil jointing gasket paper to eliminate a potential transmission fluid leak source. It turns out it wasn't that the supplied rubber gasket ruptured, but the quality and tensioning of the crimp ring on the shifters boot. This caused leaking on the left side of the shifter and tracking along the boot.A common theme in photos is an inadequate crimp on the ear clamp.Unfortunately, once I discovered this defficiency, it was too late for the returns process and didn't like my chances of getting any product support based on Bentleys experience. The fix? a 78-102mm hose clamp and a bead of gasket silicone on the internal wall of the boot. Be forewarned: I would recommend going through the returns process as this will almost certainly void your warranty. My advice to future installers is to test drive your jeep before re-installing the centre console, and monitor for signs of transmission fluid prior to buttoning the lot up.On the plus side, still breaking in the shifter, sometimes a little stiff to get out of 3rd into 2nd or vise-versa.The shifter, even w/o the b&m shift stick offers a *very* positive engagement into gear.

Should've Bought This a Long Time Ago
This is probably the single best upgrade you could make to the drivability of a Jeep Wrangler. It makes the vehicle feel so much better to drive. The shifter itself is a lot quieter than the OEM shifter. It's more robust in ever aspect. The thing is heavy, clicky, and very positive. 1st and Reverse were always finicky in my 2010 Jeep JK and this shifter cleaned it right up. I know it costs a lot, but you get what you pay for. People complain that their shifts are slower because the shifts have a lot of resistance. I think you just need to be a man and grow some muscle because my shifts have gotten quicker. The throws are so shorts it feels like I haven't even moved my arm.
