Definitely needed for Scallop knife
The covers works great. I didn't know it was split the whole way I thought you just put the knife in the end and slid it in. That's not the case but it being split the whole way is not a problem. The knife stays in the holder well and goes right in. Keeps the knife and people around it safe. Works well and a must have for a Scallop knife like the one pictured. Very happy would buy again

once it's in the drawer, the tailored size stores noticeably better.
this is an improvement over a cheaper brand that I had purchased for other knives. . this is formfitting for a slicer, where the cheaper guard is needlessly too wide, as though they only use one width and just cut for length, not according to the blade.

Complete mismatch from Alexa
I added this knife and cover to my order based on the cover being recommended by Alexa for the knife I selected. As you can see from the pic, it will not work. Trying to start a return.
