I've been reading a lot about stand-up desks and there are some Google employees in my building using them. They seem to like them, so I thought I'd check them out. The only problem is that dedicated stand-up desks are expensive and I wasn't sure I wanted to spend several hundred dollars only to find I didn't like one.This add-on table-top desk is an excellent solution. I ordered two of them (for two desks I have) and the assembly was very easy (only a screwdriver was needed, all other parts were included). It's sawdust furniture (particle board), but of reasonable quality. Mine came with a little bit of glue on the finish of the desktop so I gave it one less star in this review for lack of quality. Otherwise, it's a very solid piece of particleboard furniture. I would have been willing to pay a little more for it to be manufactured in North America (I hate supporting China).One word of caution: I'm a little over six-feet tall and have a 30" inch desk. I got lucky and this add-on table-top desk is the perfect height. I really got lucky because this desk is non-adjustable. Be aware of that and take some measurements before you order. The advantage of true stand-up desks is that they are often height adjustable. However, they are also ten-times as expensive. If you can make this table-top desk work, great!

SUPER easy to assemble. I didn't use the glue that came with it and it stated that may make the product not as sturdy but I don't seem to have any issues with that. I've moved it several times (from my home office, to my coffee table, to the floor - just to be lazy and sit), and I've experienced no issues with the product. It's just as sturdy as the day I put it together. It looks nice - I like the area underneath the stand to keep my paperwork organized. There's so many uses for this item - I've even flipped it upside down (so the top part, the longest part is facing down), put it on my treadmill, thrown my laptop on it and did a little work while getting some much needed walking in. For $49, I feel it's worth every penny.

I have been having hip and shoulder and back problems for a while, and while only the hip problem was a direct result of sitting all day, the other issues weren't being helped by sitting. My boss has been at a standing desk for years, so I decided to give this a try.This converter was easy to assemble by myself, a phillips head screw driver is needed and everything else comes in the box. It is sturdy, and honestly I can fit a lot more stuff on it than I anticipated. I have a 3 monitor set up all on this converter desk, plus my large ergonomic keyboard and a track ball. I admit I had to turn one of my monitors to portrait rather than landscape and its a hair tight, but still work able and I love it.Not going back to sitting any time soon!!!

I ordered one of these in 2019. It came flat packed, but fully assembled. Unfold the legs and tighten. Easy to fold back up, and put away, then easy to unfold for use again. This time it was the similar to before with cheap packaging, some scratches on the product, but not expecting much at the price. The disappointment this time was assembling it with 9 cam locks, 9 bolts, 6 dowels, and a tube of glue. Once assembled, it is permanent.

Perfect standing desk solution for my current work environment. If you've put together IKEA furniture, you can assemble this item in your sleep. As this is not an adjustable desktop be sure to take measurements of the height of the surface you plan to use this on. Very satisfied, was exactly as described and have already recommended it to colleagues. My one complaint is the pricing for these things. Clearly an instance of what the market will bear during this time of 'sitting is evil'. But still less costly than what I could attempt to cobble together myself. /rant

I am 5'9" and the height is almost perfect...if you were a lot shorter or taller you might not find it as ideal as I do. It is solid and heavy. it's made of the pressed wood which I don't like, but you don;t see or feel it once it is constructed...it feels heavy and solid enough. Easy to put on my desk to break up sitting all day. My MacBook Pro fits on it easily with my sketch pad or pad of paper

I've been considering a stand-up work solution for some time, but didn't want to replace my existing home office furniture. Unfortunately, most other solutions didn't offer the space I needed for my laptop, separate keyboard, separate mouse, and larger monitor. This solution DOES work. Personally, I wish it were a bit larger depth wise, but that's because I seem to use a lot of space. The desk is sturdy and easy to put together.
