What is the best fixative for these.

I use a clear gesso or a matte medium over them. Because they activate with water, you want to swipe your brush or roller quickly over them so they won't spread to areas you don't want color. You could also use a spray fixative or spray--but again, you have to be careful not to get them too wet so spray lightly. If you don't do one or the other, and you try to use ink pens of any type on them, you will ruin your ink pens. Hope this helps.

A) how do you use these in card making? B) how do you use these "on" rubber stamps?

A - You can use them to create backgrounds designs of color on card stock, you can rub them thru stencils, you can color images with them like watercolor... B- you can rub them directly on a stamp and them mist slightly with a water bottle and then stamp. It creates a water color looking image of the stamp. This technique works better with bold, thick line stamps that aren't very detailed such as foam stamps or closed images of rubber stamps. If you check out Youtube with tags for Gelato and card making, you'll see some good tutorials. That way you can decide if they're really the media tool you're looking for. I use mine in card marking and art journaling for the most part.

how might these work with acrylics in mixed media pieces?

You can't mix them with acrylic but you can use them over dry acrylic paint. Think of it as using lipstick on your art, that's their consistency. Very rich colors that always seem to be a bit oily(?) hard to describe. They 'wet' into a nice watercolorish media. Once thinned with water they do dry down more normally. Interesting supply. I like them.
