Beautiful color stain and poly in one

I love this stain! I did 1 thick coat on this large dresser and still had enough to do 2 nightstands! I did have to order another one to do my chest drawers but it looks beautiful! Took an antique bedroom set to the new century.

Was like gettin a new table.. bit tricky to spread out.. but excellent.. may need second or even third layers after a while.. but nice effect.

I love the stain/varnish combination and the color.

Pros: Easy one step application. Keeps and stores well before use. Looks okay.Cons: Single step mix makes deep staining difficult and poor color control. Increased difficulty making even appearance. Super high VOC output for a long time. Can be pretty messy.Overall, I’d be happy with results for a simple outdoor project where I was not too picky about final appearance (Like barn wood or a rustic bench). For fine work where color is important or indoor furniture, cabinets, etc, or around pets, children or those bothered by VOC’s, using a stain and separate clear coat or poly will be much more satisfying. I’m glad to have tried this product on a small project where I didn’t ruin any expensive hardwood or pieces with high expectations for final results. Also, I did a lot of advanced prep work because I knew it would be messy.This has its uses: Small projects, Not concerned about odor or VOCs, lots of tolerance to outcome and easily satisfied with general idea of staining in one step.

i love minwax products but this purchase was deceptive. So, I entered the exact product I wanted (product on the left), after searching and combing through the filters and various products I got this (product on the right). Still a great product but the 1/2 pt cost more than the quart and I found the quart $6 less expensive at my local Lowes. To make matters worse there's no return on gloss and stains but that's something we should know before making the purchase

I prepped my wood and followed the directions. I typically use a stain then will seal it after it's dried. I gave this stain/poly a try and will not buy again. It mucked up the wood and I had to resand and stain all over.
