This book is good and contains the basics
This book is good and contains the basics, which I think anyone interested in shooting should start with. Keep in mind that sitting on your butt reading a book cannot make you better alone. You have to practice and apply what you read and learn from others. Nothing can replace experience. I recently got 20 minutes of free instruction from a trainer. He had asked me, "Would you like to correct your problem in one magazine?" This was in reference to my 10 inch group shooting my 45 Sig P220 Combat TB at about 15 yards with some "fliers" off the paper. You know, the ones we pretend just "fly off target" all by themselves so that we don't fell less manly. I thought he was B.S.-ing me so I called his hand taking him up on the offer to fix my issue in just one magazine, only 8 rounds. Well, sure as the day is long he help me significantly in just one magazine. All he did was make me slow down and step-by-step do all the things I already knew, that I had already read. After just one mag I was getting clover leafs at 10 yards with a few fliers that were only an inch or two off dead bulls-eye. This book is a good one for rifles. An experienced instructor is also helpful. The rest is up to you.

Marine Marksmanship Manual
Exactly what it says it is: an older ebook copy of a Marine marksmanship manual. I used this to help teach the kid of a friend about military sights and basic marksmanship before he joined the Army, since he had only every shot a BB gun before enlisting. Using this, I got him up to speed to qualify for 'marksman' under current Army scoring system at a minimum, and on a good day, he was right on the border between Sharpshooter and Expert. And hey - it is so easy to understand that his mother even began to shoot with my AR (iron sights) once she read the manual!

Required knowledge for beginners in rifle marksmanship
Good review from boot camp days of basics except this covers M-16 but principles of shooting all there. Good review for vets and good reference for beginners and instructors to teach beginners at the range

Great book
Just Bought an AR and learning to shoot the right way is very difficult. This book helps you shoot the way the Marines shoot which is top notch.

Rifle Mastery Broken Down
The manual covers all of the fundamentals of marksmanship with the M16A2. The manual would be very useful for high power match competitors. There are many advanced skills explained in the manual as well.

Basic Marksmanship Manual
This manual is written for the first time shooter, or first time introduction to the AR-15/M-16 line of weapons. It starts with the assumption that the you have no knowledge and works the concepts of the theory of firearms, safe handling, and then shooting from basic and advanced positions. For advanced shooters, it is at best a reference guide. So if you want a good introduction to rifle shooting, this manual is an excellent low cost introduction.

A great manual.
Excellent. Based on the M-16, but covers all aspects of rifle shooting. Good photographs, clearly written and easy to read. Read this and you can't miss!

cheap copy, outdated
I expected more for from an "Official" US Army hand book, but maybe the US army is overrated. All this you can find on the internet, although it has a nice glossy cover and the impressive eagle photo.
