Both my dogs had skin allergies and were constantly scratching and chewing on their paws. I switched them to AvoDerm after my sister told me about this food. Within two weeks my dogs were no longer scratching or chewing on themselves. The price is a bit more than other dry dog foods but it’s worth it because my dogs are literally living their best lives. Super happy to see them free of that kind of distress.

We liked all the positive reviews, especially aboit the skin problems. Our 10 year old cairn terrier has a rather severe problem with the skin seemingly spreading and the vet says it’s the grass but that doesn’t seem rational nor realistic’cause he’s been on the same grass since he was almost 2 years old. Not sure if the food helped the skin due to the rather severe Diarrhea. Stopped the food and it cleared up in two days and back to his normal. We will try it again (if I can convince my wife to do that, and hopefully it will solve the losing hair and scalb-like covering on his skin.

Quality food. Expensive but we make it last

Joy has always had a problem with smell and itching. Her fur would be oily and icky to touch. She would scratch huge sections of her hair off her sides and neck and the resulting trauma for her skin would make her smell even worse.I have tried the weekly bath, medicine for allergies, special diets etc as prescribed by several vets. No happiness there at all.Finally, I went to Avoderm. I used Avoderm with another skin-cursed dog several decades ago and it was truly miraculous. Poor bear enjoyed the final years of his life with petting from everyone.The product is excellent. I prefer feeding the canned food (original) but it has become impossible to get.If your dog smells and itches constantly, buy a big bag of Avoderm. By the time you need more your situation should be completely over, but you will need to continue this food.If you see the original canned food—buy it! It is wonderful!

I was feeding my dog a mixture of Pedigree Adult dry and Gravy Train wet. The Pedigree didn't SEEM to be the culprit (she had been eating that much longer w/Pedigree wet) but the Gravy Train I switched her to in order to save some $ was a prime suspect so I researched foods and switching based on my wife's advice. Blue (the dog) had been looking mangy for quite some time in her hind quarters and had been licking/chewing CONSTANTLY! Rusty pink spots, bumps on her backside, base of the tail, brown fur (she is a Dalmation/Terrier mix). I weened her off of both (over 6 days time) and have been feeding her the Avoderm wet/dry combo for 3 days now. She is so much better! She still licks from time to time but only about 10% as much as she was. The fur looks much better and the brown is fading away!! I waited a full week to see if there would be a difference before I reviewed this product, but there is!!! A HUGE DIFFERENCE!! Most dog foods have some type of "meal" product in them. Corn meal, Soybean meal, stuff you wouldn't feed your enemies and that can cause allergic reactions which develop over time. Trust me, if I didn't see it, I wouldn't believe this! No wheat, no corn, no artificial colors. The ingredients in this stuff make you feel good about yourself. I have been hungry a few times and thought...hmmm, I would eat THAT! Follow the weening suggestions and do something GOOD for your dog! Totally happy with this product!!!

Dog only eats it when wet food is done maybe a cup or 2 a week. I like the smaller size bags have brought it twice so far and will continue to buy from Amazon
