LESLIE SANSONE: WALK AWAY THE LBS - FOR
P**T
Great Workout!
I own a collection of Leslie's work out programs, and this is one of my favorites! It's fast-paced, and I really work up a sweat. It targets all parts of your body, not just abs. The walkers are wearing the abs belt (which you have to buy separately). I don't have the belt, but use 3 lb. weights instead. It works just as well. Both the music and the energetic group of walkers make the time fly by. It takes about 45 minutes to complete the 3 miles. Throughout the program, Leslie shows the meter at 1/2 mile increments so you can see how far you've gone.As this is in a DVD format, I should be able to bypass the sales pitch for the abs belt in the beginning of the program and just get to the warm-up; however, you have to fast forward.

Great Workout, Disappointing DVD
I got this DVD already prepared for the annoying chit chat. I was expecting the silly laugh and the nonsense discussion. It is a great workout, and I use hand weights instead of the belt. I am challenged and feel great afterward. It does not require too much space for movement, and it also has no fancy footwork. The only thing I am upset with is the format of the DVD. I bought the DVD because I didn't want to have to fast forward to the spot I wanted - I wanted to have a menu or something...to be able to skip to the cool down if I wanted to finish before the end of the workout. Nope, still have to fast forward! No menu!! DVD in my opinion is nothing but a compact video tape. LOL...it is less bulky than the VHS, but I wanted the convenience of chapter selections. I also have to FF through the introductory material. If I'd have known this, I would have saved myself SEVERAL BUCKS and bought a VHS from the Amazon Marketplace. >:(Incidentally, the Four Mile Express Super Challenge workout DVD, unfortunately, is the same way.Anyway, the cruddy DVD format is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. If storage space isn't an issue, there is no difference between the DVD and VHS.

Lots of walking, too much laughing!
Enthusiasm for an instructor is exactly what's needed - but Leslie's constant giggling, laughing and chatting takes away from the momentum that you're trying to achieve...it get annoying and I find I can only do this one day and must switch to something more challenging.

Great 3 mile work out!!!
I have quite a few WATP tapes from Leslie. I know she chatters a lot through her tapes but I have learned to block that out. I like the fact that she encourages and shows you how to modify the steps if it is too much for you. This a fast paced 3 mile tape. I have her other 3 mile tape and I love the music on this one and it is at a much quicker pace. I do not have the belt but I use 3lb weights and it works the same. I do like seeing some familiar faces who usually walk with her. I really work up a sweat at the end and feel I have worked my upper and lower body.

My Mom swears by this
My mom asked me to order this "in case" something happens to the one she has now. She seemed to have difficulty finding it elsewhere. She does this video a lot. It is the first video I have actually seen her stick to doing. She feels great and gets surprisingly excited to do the video.

A good all around workout
For people who are familiar with the Walk Away the Pounds workout this one is great. It is three mile walk with additional upper body workouts. She uses a special 'belt' which I don't have and don't feel I need to make the workout effective. I use 2 or 3 pound weights and feel like I have had a good all around workout.

One of my favorites- and I am not at all coordinated
I have been doing the Walk Away the Pounds almost every day for a year or so and I think this is one of my favorites- I enjoy the walkers and Leslie's bubbliness does not bother me. I am glad that I was familiar with the WATP Express series because the stretch at the end of those tapes is much better and can be incorporated into the end of the WATP for Abs which has poor stretching segment. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the end stretch and the fact that I have had to replace the elastic on the belt more than once this year (which you have to buy seperately).

a great dvd!
this is a great workout.although she uses a stretchy belt to tone the upper body you could easily use hand weights.i only wish they would use chapters in these dvds so you could move onif you did not want to do the whole workout.

Not sure it's as good for abs...
As it implies! I don't have the band that most of the participants wear, but I did use weights to get the extra workout. I'd like to have seen her use the band an awful lot more. Having said that if you are starting out on weight loss and aren't particularly fit, her workouts are a great introduction and I'm getting used to her voice!!!!!
