Good Book For Emphasizing Tooth Brushing
I purchased this book because, like many a kiddo with sensory issues, our son HATES brushing his teeth. Or having them brushed. Or anything that looks and feels even remotely like unto it. I previewed this first on kindle unlimited and then bought it.I like that this uses simple sentences. I also like that it goes over the steps of brushing. I actually like that the teeth are shown outside of the mouth. I'm not entirely sure how my very literal son is processing that one, because he's non-verbal and is mostly willing to communicate about things he wants or doesn't want to do at this time on his speech device. But I like it because it allows for him to see the proper placement of the brush on the teeth so it kind of reinforces the idea that we don't just stick a toothbrush in our mouth and chew on it, we actually move it back and forth on the teeth. So, I do understand what other reviewers have said about the teeth sticking so far outside the head being odder looking, but I think this could be useful for special needs kiddos.I also for the same reason like that little horse accidentally spits on his dad. I think it does a good job with the "oops" of showing this was an accident. For children who have trouble with motor planning or fine motor tasks like my son, such accidents are frequent in learning, and I think it is important for them to feel like accidents of this nature are normal and to be accepted and expected. For many kiddos with these kinds of struggles, like my son, they are already very aware they don't do things as well as other people they see, and it can feel very discouraging for them. So I think it is good that this book gives a place of normalcy to such an accident.Overall, I think this is a good book for emphasizing teeth brushing skills. Probably best for a normal functioning child aged 18 months to 3 years, but for kiddos with special needs or cognitive impairment, that range could be higher. Our son is 5, but he falls into those latter categories.

Great book and series
We bought this book for our 3 year old for Christmas. He had the Duck Goes Potty book and requested that we read it night after night. On the back of the book they show the other books in the series and he asked to read those. We didn't own them, so we bought him Pig Takes a Bath and this book for Christmas. The best part about this book is that Pony brushes his teeth, "Just like Daddy." Our sons go through their morning ritual with Daddy every day, so I know they will love it. The pictures are great and it has just the right number of words per page for younger children. I also like how it details the proper way to brush your teeth in very simple steps. I'm glad we bought this book.

Helpful for toddler to learn about brushing
My toddler (18 months) does not enjoy teeth brushing. She fights and screams and flat out refuses. So, I am trying all the fun books and videos and toothbrushes possible to get her excited (or at least cooperating). This book has nice, bright images and big bold words. It is quick, simple and repetitive which she seems to like. It repeats each page "just like dad" which is my least favorite part. Only because I am the one who stays home with her and she sees me brushing but she doesn't see her dad brushing. It's probably not really hurting the effectiveness of the book, but I thought it was worth noting.

My son laughs every time.
This is one of the greatest children's books we have read in a long time. The pattern of the story is one that children easily follow and then laugh out loud at the end when the plot twist is revealed. After only one reading my 3 year old could "read" most of the book to himself and my 2 year old granddaughter was repeating the lines weeks later. I really love this book. However a couple of the others in the series were not nearly as entertaining as Pony Brushes His Teeth.

ONLY MALE CHARACTERS?
So far I own 12 of these books. I got a box set for my daughters birthday and she loved them so much I wanted to buy more. HOWEVER I noticed that the characters in these books are either MALE or labeled as just the animal. There is NOT ONE female noted character!? It's always "he" "his" never "she" "hers". Now I wouldn't mind if the characters were just labeled as their animal for example: "good job mouse!" "Monkey is sad". But to only include male pronouns and not one. single. female. pronoun is wrong! So I've taken to using a label maker to change these books to represent girls as well as boys! Very disappointing Michael Dahl doesn't include female pronouns in his CHILDREN'S books! That being said I do like the messages and simplicity of the messages these books send. They are very easy for a young children to understand!

BEST BOOKS!!!!
If you don’t have any Hello Genius books then you need to other them ASAP!!! My son learned Please, Thank you, excuse me, and Sorry right away! And we would do sign language with it at one year old. Now he’s two and basically reads the books to me. Little lion shares, little tiger picks up and Pony Brushes His Teeth are our new favorites!! Also added Little Dinos Don’t Hit as that has been a problem lately. I suggest ALL the books!!!! They are WORTH IT!!!

Wonderful Book!
Pony Brushes His Teeth (Hello Genius) My 2 year old grandson loves horses, and his parents started helping him brush his teeth quite a while ago. This book covers every step needed to brush your teeth. The format is that the pony does everything "Just like Dad." I highly recommend this book. It only took a few readings for my grandson to learn where to read/say, "Just like Dad." He thoroughly enjoys the book, especially the funny ending (Pony swishes and spits and Dad gets all wet). Note: when I previewed the review it said this was for the library binding, that is wrong, and I'm not sure how to fix it. Anyway, we bought the board book.

A bit disappointed this time with the content :(
Not happy this time. I am a single mum, my lkid has a biological father but things in life are complicated. In this case, pony brushes as his father does. I will adapt it to my kid but I did not know that I was going to find this content. Just sad about this issue but happy and still completing my collection, which is not an easy thing to do here in Spain. I cannot find all the books here in Amazon :(

Thank you!!
SORRY DAD!(if you get this book, you'll hear that a lot, accompanied with lots of giggles)Good to have a funny part to remember when a little disagreement about bedtime/brushing teeth is bubbling up! Better to laugh and go brush your teeth, then whine about not going to bed- THANK YOU Michael Dahl!We love this book, and still talk about Pony brushing his teeth a year later.

Educational, fun, great artwork
A brilliant book, as are all the ones in this series I have come across. Endearing quirky artwork, and a nice story about pony brushing his teeth, just like dad, with an amusing bit at the end.

Just like dad
