Knit Picks Wool of The Andes Worsted Weight Blue 100% Wool Yarn (10 Balls - Sapphire Heather)

I wasn’t sure about this brand. But I tried it and placed an additional 2 orders after the first. I like how it’s packaged in compact skeins, and ready to go. Easy to use and a dream to knit with. The colors are nice. There’s a dusty tinge to the colors that I like. Has an earthy and organic vibe. I’ll buy again.

These are made of the natural material and are soft. They are Knit Picks brand yarn, 110yards, 50gram balls. Love the color. Hand wash and dry flat. I haven't had the opportunity to knit with them yet. But I know it will be fabulous.

This yarn was great to work with. I’m a newer knitter and wasn’t sure how the quality would be, but Knit Picks yarns, in general tend to be pretty good now that I’ve experienced a few of their yarn types. The price is amazing for the quantity and the wool itself isn’t too bad against my bare arms. I usually wear at least a t shirt under this sweater. Wouldn’t recommend this yarn for people who are very sensitive to wool since it’s slightly more rustic.

This yarn is an excellent value for the price! For crochet, it works up very nicely with almost no splitting or snagging. It's also in that sweet spot of being usable for worsted and DK weight projects by changing hook sizes. The colors were very consistent throughout the pack and the yarn itself has a strong but airy loft. In double crochet, it works up into a medium-weight yarn fabric that folds nicely in all directions, and has a stiff drape. My one downside is that this yarn is not soft. It may soften with washing, but straight out of the pack it is rather scratchy. This does not bother me as the piece I'm making is not going to be worn against skin, just something to note. Also, it is pure wool so hand wash only unless you want it to felt! Definitely would recommend for a fiber crafter looking to explore more natural fiber materials.

This yarn is so soft and the color is just exquisite. It is also very easy to work with. It does not tangle or twist, I have not found any knots in it either. The yarn also does not separate, it stays tightly twisted while being worked with. Once it is worked up it is warm and soft.

Bought 2 packs colors and 1 pack of black for aNice size couch throw. Jewel tone granny squares. Not quite finished but love the colors.

I bought this yarn to make a stuffed animal for my baby, and it was absolutely perfect!

I am teaching a co-op class for homeschoolers and we thought we'd try our hand at dyeing yarn with koolaid. Firstly - this yarn dyes beautifully, even with koolaid. That said...as soon as you get this yarn wet to dye it, it smells VILE. A couple of my students were gagging; I had a headache by the end. It was awful...like they didn't process or pre-wash this yarn at all or something. I've hand washed it, soaked it in vinegar and left it in the freezer and it STILL smells bad. Half my class was begging me not to continue dyeing the yarn next week and frankly, I can't blame them!!!UPDATE 10/23/23:I soaked them for a couple hours in a hot oxi-clean and baking soda bath in my kitchen sink and *FINALLY* the smell is gone!!!

Rich beautiful colours, as shown. Nice pure wool, I plan to use them for felting / fulling. The balls seem a bit smaller than I expected, I hope the yardage is as described. Nice to be able to get a pre selected variety of colours in one package.
