The thinning shears are surprisingly sharp. The scissors as well. I'd get these again.I haven't used all of the scissors yet but I know I will. I'm thrilled though, that the thinning shears do a superb job of thinning out the densest coat of my Aussie's rear-end. I keep him thinned as much as possible in summer & always have a hard time with less sharp thinning shears.But these did a darn good job on the thickest part of his upper back & his "pants"...i.e. the bits just below his rectum.The one issue I did have with the THINNING SHEARS is, the blue ring designed to protect your thumb from getting injured, IT CAME OFF. You can insert it back into scissor but I'd prefer to keep my thumb from getting sore or even free from abrasion with a more reliable protection.Overall though, I'd say they're a pretty good deal.

Good quality set.
These feel heavy and like they are good quality. To be honest, I mostly use the short scissors (for trimming the fur that blocks her eyes), but all the tools seem well made. They do not flex and are not loose like some scissors are. They cut fur well. Most scissors have pointy ends that would make me nervous to use near her eyes, but these have rounded ends which are substantially safer.There are MANY types of Stainless Steel. I looked up the type of Stainless Steel that they say these are made of, and it is a very good grade. They should stay sharp a long time (if used only on fur).

Awesome for home grooming
Perfect for keeping pups groomed between salon visits. I highly recommend this grooming kit. My washing machine is perfect height for grooming; I put a rubber back rug down, set out this wonderful grooming kit. My pup gets groomed every day.Kit is inexpensive. Has everything except a brush. Scissors are well made. Comb is perfect. The zippered case keeps it all together and it is a space saver.Awesome item!

Not a groomer
I may end up using every pair in this set eventually, but the one I have used, is very sharp. It cuts nice. I have a wiggly golden doodle with poodle hair and she needs to see. Such a scary area for me since she can't hold still, but we got that cut without injury. I call that a success.

Really GREAT set!
I was shocked at the quality and durability of this set for the price. The pieces are very sturdy and sharp, and do wonderful work! Very pleased with this purchase and my dogs look so much nicer!

No manual. Not sure about these
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE.......sending them back. I was sick and tried trying to get them to work. Might have been used because of spots on the metal??Who knows?Not sure how to use the adjustment correctly. The scissors don't close all the way. Then when they do you see a gap in between each blade. Going to try and adjust them some more and give an update

I like this set, I have three puppies and I don’t feel comfortable taking them to the groomers.
