Xbox Wireless Controller – Winter Forces Special Edition

It works like it should. The texturing is nice and I like the pattern. I can also discern it from my kids controllers so they can’t steal mine and get away with it :)

I was skeptical on getting this one since the Covert Forces one I used to have had a high gloss paint finish, which made it very hard to keep a grip on, especially since my hands get sweaty while playing. I had the Dawn Shadow controller, and I LOVED how the paint finish was a rubberized matte finish, since it made the controller feel amazing and it never slipped out my hands. Upon receiving this item, it does have a matte finish, but it's also more textured than the Dawn Shadow controller, so it feels even better yet! The LED is a grayish color instead of white so it doesn't offset too much white color on the controller, and the back of the controller is textured as well. If I could get this one engraved somewhere, I would. Instead of getting one through the Xbox Design Lab. All in all, this is an amazing controller. I feel like I need to "baby" it with how awesome it is, because this is by far the best and most well-made Microsoft controller I've ever owned to this day. Definitely would recommend.

My original model-1537 controller finally started to wear down after years of use, thumb sticks were worn, buttons weren't clicking well anymore, and overall it just started to feel unresponsive. I decided to buy this newer generation controller because it matched the pattern of my original controller, but in white. A lot of the newer features on the model-1708 controllers I don't really use as a PC user, but I do enjoy the slightly textured grips these controllers have now. The buttons and sticks feel more solid, but that might just be my perspective coming from a worn controller. The pictures don't really do this any justice, the controller definitely looks better in person. It's monotone everywhere except for 4 little color coded dots next to each thumb button as the buttons themselves are monotone. The pattern is the same as the other Special Forces edition controllers.

Overall, the controller works well. Not to mention that the packaging is okay. I've had the controller for about a month now, and it is still working good. The only thing to note that I've experienced so far is that the D-Pad is slightly unresponsive sometimes. I would press any direction (especially down) on the D-Pad and it would either have a one second delay, or register it being pressed twice. It is not that big of a bother, in my opinion. EDIT: I would also like to add that the headphone jack does not work. If you like to play online, don't buy this controller.

Feels great and very responsive.

I bought this controller to use with my Xbox one S. I have numerous other controllers along with another Xbox. We recently bought a second tv in our room so my fiance and I can play Xbox together. I bought this controller in hopes of buying another charger, so I could have two controllers to flip flop between while the rechargeable batteries recharge. Upon opening it, I connected it with just regular batteries. I have not bought the charger for the room yet. I wanted to try out the controller first because I was wary it may have issues because it's not uncommon to have problems with controllers (good ol Microsoft). The controller seemed to work fine until I connected my Astro A40 headset to it. The audio was choppy. I disconnected the headset and reconnected them. This time the headset acted as if there was no power to them. They did not work with the controller. I tried the headset with another controller I have and they didn't work. So initially I thought it fried the headset and the headset is the issue because they're passed warranty. I had my fiance try my Astro A40 headset on her custom controller that Microsoft now sells. The headset worked fine. She swapped me her A40 headset and they worked fine on the other controller, but for the safety of the headset we didn't try it out on The controller I'm returning. That was my experience. I'm not interested in a return. I'm just getting a refund. The ratings on this controller are not good and I'll find another one eventually. I really liked the customizable ones. They're up to like 90 bucks if you get a name inscribed, but you seem to get what you pay for.

So far this controller has been great. Connects fairly easily to my PC with or without USB. No lag at all with either wireless or wired. No drops in connection. Buttons are solid. The grip is just plastic so very slippery if my hands are sweaty, but that's a problem with me and not the controller. Triggers are very smooth. High quality for the price. And it looks great.

3/5 stars; for a few reasons. 1) I personally preferred the Xb360 triggers. Less squishy and more precise. 2) this supposedly is a Xbox-one S controller checking the model no and such; but Bluetooth connecting was just NOT a thing that happened.. had purchased the adapter "dongle" for PC just in case and I'm glad I did.. because this would have been a 2 star review if not.. 3) thumb pads feel higher than the original XB360 controller; they used to feel really comfortable to use and now they just feel like you're sitting your thumbs on a tower... less precise feeling; Positive note? I do love the integration of the battery pack; no more hump.. The adapter was a chinch; to plug and play with.. pairing was a breeze.. drivers AUTO- INSTALL which is both a pain in the ass and a good thing; bad for techies; and good for "Less-Than-Savvy tech" people and kids who don't know where to find, and install them. and finally.. it's the best of both worlds.. ergonomic controls for things like driving cars in games and anything else you could want; while being at the machine that you wish.

This is a really nice controller, my son absolutely loves it. It doesn't come with a rechargeable battery, but you can plug it into the xbox usb and recharge easily. My son really likes that it is different than your standard black controller, and the price is absolutely right. Thank you!

Excelente calidad, muy cómodo al tacto por la parte de atras. Llego bien y a tiempo. Llevo casi 1 mes con él y no ha presentado ningún fallo. ACTUALIZACIÓN (01/11/2017) (6 meses de uso frecuente): El control sigue estando en perfectas condiciones, no me ha fallado, ni quebrado, ni manchado ni aflojado. Sigue siendo recomendable
